Oh, so it's pretty fricking hard.
Why didn't you say that in the first place?
I apologize because pretty fricking hard is so much harder than I thought it was and I commend you on your vast knowledge of the game.

Thanks for your solid contribution to the thread. Sometimes I forget where I'm posting

If college batting average translated to the big leagues Raph Rhymes would be winning batting titles instead of hitting .220 in single A. To compare Pap hitting .250 to catchers in the majors is a joke.
sure. you are being way too harsh. I didn't say Pap would hit .250 in the majors. I said (or at least meant) that if he COULD hit .250 in the bigs, he would be good.
it seems that you are wanting to pick a fight. chill out man.

Since you made your comment and then disappeared whenever I asked you to show me you knew what you were talking about, I did your research for you.
The answer is only 6 MLB catchers hit over .250 on the season last year.
Which that answer would have only proved you were clueless, so you might have looked it up and realized how dumb you were and then choose to stay away.

If he could hit .250 he would be an all star if his defense was solid.
I argued all season that as long as Pap was playing good on defense he should start, regardless of his batting average. It just isn't as important for a catcher. Hitting .250 isn't a must for him to reach the majors.

I dont think you have the slightest clue how hard it is to make it to the majors...and then to make it as a catcher on top of that.

What exactly are you trying to say?
Posted on 6/2/17 at 9:38 pm to KamaCausey_LSU
It is actually the easiest to make it in the bigs

Our season turned around when he started hitting the ball imo

Easiest in terms of what?
It is certainly not the easiest of positions to master.

You said the following..

I said

Interpretation
They took an all star catcher and made a second baseman with him which took a TON of work from his own mouth during his HoF special.
Then they took Austin Nola who has been a light hitting a SS as you know and made a MLB catcher of him. He needed to work. It is possible if you have talent. I would consider Pap's plate discipline, being a switch hitter and a strong arm possible to get there with maturity and work ethic. He is 6'4 and learned to not look stupid swinging at curve balls like our other catcher.

I think he has a 25% chance. Defensively he has all the tools. Offensively he will never be .275 hitter, but with his frame he could be a guy that hits .240 with 25 homers in MLB. If He continues to improve and learns how to handle pitchers he will at least be a AAA catcher.

Neither Adrian Antonini nor Brad Cresse made it to the majors. So I'm going with "no" on Pap making it.

You make a thread suggesting that it might be better for LSU not to host a super regional and then call somebody else a ranter?
Coming from the idiot who made, quite possibly, the dumbest thread of the entire baseball season. Are your feelings still hurt because people called you stupid? Need a safe space to go to?

If he is solid defensively and hits .240 he would be in the top half of the MLB among catchers in hitting. So what would keep him in AAA with these numbers?

Wow. You are still carrying this thread along? And still arguing/disagreeing with everyone who posts...solid commitment.
That type of dedication might get you to the big leagues one day. If you improve of course
