If you told me to choose:
- Lose to Ole Miss, make the playoffs
- Beat Ole Miss, miss the playoffs

I’d choose Lose to Ole Miss, make the playoffs 10/10 times. It’s only a matter of time before Ole Miss returns to their rightful place at the bottom of the SEC. Once Chambliss and Lacy are gone next year, you’ll see their decline quickly.

This is the truth!

I was one of the ones calling for JD to be benched because he wouldn't/couldn't throw the ball deep or over the middle unless the WR was WIDE OPEN and a defender wasn't within 15 yards of him. To make matters worse, he'd take off and run if his first read wasn't wide open instead of waiting for a receiver to break open (or, you know, throw the ball on a timing route before the receiver breaks just like you practice during the week).

The following year, though, he proved me (and every other Tiger fan) wrong, and kudos to him (and to the coaching staff that broke him of his run-first habits).

But, like you said, my original opinion was borne out of repeated performances over his first year - not a kneejerk reaction to one bad game.
