Wife and I got into Nola earlier this afternoon and are looking for a local, fun watering hole to catch the tigers tomorrow evening. Some people have said mannings but said it is a Buffalo Wild Wings type environment. Or waiter at lunch said his favorite spot is the rusty nail.

Any posters going to be out and about? Any and all input is greatly appreciated

Rusty Nail is a pretty good place as long as Bama isn't playing at the same time.
Manning's is just a corporate bullshite Harrahs operation. I would even rather Gordon Biersch than Mannings.

If you need to stay in that area, The District is pretty good for the tv set up.
Back bar at Barcadia is another option.
If you don't mind driving a little, Cooter Browns is a nice set up or even the Tcoup Yard. LINK

Welcome MHP. I posted earlier in the Rusty Nail thread from earlier in the week.

Just talked to one of the owners. He said the plan is to give the main TV(s) and game sound to LSU due to the matchup. This is all dependent on the crowd that shows up. A lot of the nail regulars are LSU fans and as big of a bama bar as it is, they try their best to cater to LSU as well.

I, along with some friends, will be there tomorrow. Hoping a good crowd shows up. The bama crowd will hate that we are top priority. If it's a weak LSU showing they'll switch back to the tide and we'll Have a few tvs inside and no game sound. Hope to see you and some other tigers there.

ETA: like the above poster said, mannings sucks. Not a place you want to watch a game if you are from out of town. Have fun

And will be a crowded cluster fck. Unless of course the OP gets their early and gets a bar area table with the self serve taps at the table, that is not something I suggest.

I'm guessing you are downtown / FQ area?

Mannings has a great TV set up. Food is average but it's more of a restaurant then a bar

Rusty nail is good

Happys next to walk ons

Harrahs

True, but the service sucks worse than a Peej hurricane prediction.

We can list places all night long that will have the game on. Even the Yacht Club is a good place. Lucy's isn't bad.
Doesn't Rick's Caberet still have the combination titty bar/sports bar location?

Once at the penthouse I got cursed out for telling a stripper to move because she kept talking to me right in front of the TV during a game. That did the trick. Wasn't approached again

Anywhere in the 9th ward. Park and walk around, talk to the local people and get a feel for the area.

Cooter Browns. Great food, oysters, and an excellent beer selection. LSU owns the place. There may be a couple of Bama and Ole Piss fans lurking around but they keep their mouths shut. I'll be in the back bar. Show up and I'll buy y'all a beer. Geaux Tigers!!!
