Out of towners - Bachelor Party - LSU v. Auburn -

Hey Everyone!
I've been reading up on the great hospitality of LSU after my buddy who recently moved down there told me about it. My future BIL's bachelor party is this coming weekend where we're going down to NOLA and we grabbed tickets to the Auburn LSU game.
Very pumped as I've made it a thing to catch big time CFB games (OU Texas, Mich OSU, etc.) and a top 10 SEC matchup is what I've been craving for.
We have a car service for the day so our plan was to come in around 8-9am. We're 28-30 (I'm the youngest) and got plenty of energy so we plan on bringing disposable coolers with loads of drinks (10 of us) and just walk around campus/tailgating.
Where's the best place to get dropped off?
Is it really true the best course of action is to find a giant tailgate and go up to them and talk to them?
Should I make my future BIL wear a tiara and sash like a princess?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions and GEAUX TIGERS!

The tailgate scene is sprawling all over campus. Get dropped off at the intersection of Nicholson Dr. and South or North Stadium drive. That will put you right next to the West side of the stadium and allow you to walk in all directions to tailgate spots.

Yes (Although I would stay away from tailgates exclusively comprised of college aged kids. They can be stingy on their food and booze) Louisiana people are generally very proud of their cuisine, hospitality and ability to throw a good party. Just don't be a jerk; tell them you are from out of town and want to experience all the hype about an LSU football game. Just about all will be happy to entertain you (don't get offended with some good natured teasing about being from out of state)

I'd refrain. Some may not be all that excited to hangout with some dude dressed like a princess.

get dropped off at dalrymple by the barricade. proceed toward the stadium at a slow pace.

agreed. Get dropped off at Dalrymple and Highland and then walk towards the stadium slowly from there. You will be welcomed by tailgaters if you tell them your story.

+1 for the location
I will add don't really expect anyone to just randomly wave you over. you will have to initiate the conversation but that is easy. Just introduce yourself and tell them what you are doing. You will more often than not get offered a drink and a plate.

Is he the bride? Might get a better reception without that

Did the same for my brother's in 2003 when we beat UGA. It was the most epic party week-end ever with the stripper RV in NOLA and a great game. Anyone else ever come across the stripper RV in NOLA? This guys drove us in groups to RV parked in vacant lost in Qtr. I know sounds sketchy as hell but the show with 3 girls was amazing. Good idea on coolers. Be smart as you don't want too much to carry.

Probably wouldn't do that, but it's never a bad idea to throw on some of your home team's colors (unless you're Auburn) to make yourselves more easily identifiable as out-of-towners who've come to Baton Rouge for the spectacle of LSU football and tailgating.
Also, bring corndogs.

Drink at your pace, don't try to keep up with the locals you don't want to crash and burn. Wear your home team's colors, just not purple and gold or orange and blue. If you are dressed in LSU garb, less chance of getting invited in, if you are in orange and purple, all you will get piss balloons thrown at you...

We may have to pick straws as to who gets to wear AU colors...

honestly if you wear something that signifies who you guys are, you will probably get recognized and invited over to many tailgates just from starting this thread
a tiara is not a good idea but something distinctive like a neon green hat from one of the T-shirt shops in NOLA for the groom to be may be all you need

Y’all should all wear some cheap tuxedos and walk in a big group. People would know y’all are a bachelor party group and would love it honestly.

First two stops should be The Varsity and The Chimes

Anything that connotes his status as the groom will get him plenty of attention (read "free beers, shots, and food"). But I would like to add my enthusiastic support for tiara and sash.
Would not recommend your crew wearing Aubie gear unless they're affiliated in some way. Why run the risk of a drunk Tiger fan being belligerent?
Whereabouts in CT? I live on the South Shore of MA and head that way to visit friends (usually around Essex, Old Saybrook, Lyme, etc.) pretty regularly.

We're on the other side of the state in the southwest corner by NYC - Greenwich, Stamford, Bridgeport, New Haven.

Nice. Got a law school buddy from that area (Shelton).

I've seen this quite a bit browsing around forums...
Do you Louisiana folk have a thing for corn dogs or am I missing a joke? Love 'em myself.
EDIT: Nevermind - looked it up. Hey, I wouldn't mind smelling like a corn dog.
