Where is the view from the side?
lemme check the ESPN replay. i just grabbed that from wheels youtube highlights
pre-swing- barely on line

post swing as he lifts heal/pivoted on back on toe he is clearly out

also if you watch the full AB the entire time this POS is edging back and mucking up the chalk line try to cheat as far back as possible

Now we know why his bat “nicked” the glove
How do we know his bat nicked Milazzo’s glove?
If his bat, did indeed, hit Milazzo’s glove, it would cause his swing to be altered.
His swing wasn’t altered in any way. I’ve watched his swing from the side view in super slo mo numerous times. The swing was not altered one bit.
How do you hit a glove with your bat then hit a 90 mph baseball pitch?

Batter’s foot was out of the box or Milazzo’s foot was in the bag because they were almost touching.

Freeze this video at the 4:52 mark, right before Cooper releases the pitch. The batter is set up for the pitch and his back foot is already outside the back line of the box. The back line runs between his stance. When he lifts his back leg, he steps back down further outside before making contact with the glove and ball.

The live replays seemed to clearly show the webbing of the mitt fold forward in a way that wouldn’t occur if it wasn’t hit by the bat. No opinion on whether he was out of the box, but he hit the mitt.

clearly not from the side angle.. still think he was out

He was clearly out of the box. Should have been ruled out, instead, the umpires screwed LSU out of a victory.

Look at foot
Foot behind line
No good

The 4:53 mark is even worse
Clearly out of the box at that point
I just screen captured and it’s pretty egregious. Wonder if that’s why Jay was so pissed?

There was a photo in another thread showing it from the side. Their feet weren’t as close as this looks. And it doesn’t seem like he’s outside in that one
They never even looked at his feet which is what Jay was arguing. I will back our coach on this one and say his foot was out. Jay had a better view than me or you

You know how you don’t let the umpires screw you out of a game.
Don’t have 17k’s and get a runner thrown out at third that would have scored on the fly out the next pitch.

Because the replay showed it. What were y’all watching? Milazzo’s glove definitely moved.
He just hit the webbing so it would not have altered the swing that much but the rule is a still the rule so it is catchers interference.

To me it looked like he may have been starting to close the glove on his own since it happens in a millisecond sometimes catchers ,or anyone catching a baseball , will start to close the mit a tad before the ball gets in it

You guys sound like a bunch of Tennessee fans after they lose.

These arguments are getting dumber. Closing the mitt does not cause the top of the glove (above the fingers) to fold towards the bottom of the glove (towards the wrist).

People are overlooking the fact that the umpire called interference. It’s not like Arkansas asked for a review and Birmingham made the call.
The ump doesn’t call that unless he sees or hears something. The review appeared to confirm his call, but it’s obvious that the call could not be overturned as the glove seemed to move when the swing was made.
Now if the ump had not made the call and Arkansas had asked for a review, it would be an entirely different story. But the ump made the call.

Thats fine. This thread is about his foot being out of the box.
If replay determined his left foot was in the box the whole time then fine.. but with how fast it took to confirm, its like they didnt even consider it.
