What stats? Please don't tell me you're talking about the stats that has been thrown out on Twitter/message boards for the last 3 weeks.

“ if nobody stands out”

How is that even possible? We went all last season with the same guy being back up. All spring we have that back up of last season being labeled starter. Seems to me someone must be standing out.

We will know how much he stands out after the SG.

Tigers have a serious QB controversky brewing. Justin McMillan and Narcisse have a tremendous capacity for growth and either one could wax stellar with the right development. By contrast Myles Brennan has peaked and could tear the team apart if he is named the starter

I think that all 3 will get a chance to play early on, and whomever plays the best will be anointed. I do think that Brennan will start the first game, not that it’ll mean much.

McMillan might be #2

Posted on another thread, applicant Le here:

This may not seem logical to most, but I see the current QB situation like this:
* Brennan starts with Narcisse getting maybe two series a game for change of pace & maybe a quick score with a scramble
* if Brennan goes down with an injury, McMillan is next man up with Narcisse in the same position
* Against the right opponent, Narcisse may get extended play
* Giving McMillian extended game time, he has the talent to really get in a groove & steal the job for a yeast, but Brennan comes back & finishes his career at #1
With all the WB concern, we are really in a much better QB position than most think imo

I see it like this:

*Brennan starts, with Narcisse inserted in red zone packages
*Brennan gets smashed early in SEC play and his 195-pound frame gets broken
*Narcisse comes in and lights it up, with McMillan getting mop-up duty
*LSU finishes in Top 10 and Narcisse is on Heisman watch for next year

Let me preface this by saying, I want the starter to be the kid that gives us the best chance to move the ball through the air with the fewest amount of turnovers. That being said, this Myles Brennan getting "broken in half" shite is dumb and worn out. Plenty of sub 200# qb's have played cfb in the most recent of modern eras and aren't in spinal halos or motorized wheelchairs. Severe/debilitating injuries happen. They're a result of bad luck. "Lightning striking". Jesus tapdancing christ- Major Applewhite was 190-195 and looked like he ate from Gerber jars. I think he did ok.

Right so I shouldn't believe what came out of all three of their mouths about committing to this program and staying the course. I should probably take this person with catastrophic syndromes word before the kids themselves.

You all are really losing it, it being your minds.

Just curious as to why you specify “through the air”? I want the QB who can most effectively move the ball by any means necessary.

I say "through the air" because that' is what I believe to be the most important attribute a qb can have. If it wasn't. We'd run a HS offense where the best athlete is under center based solely on legs. We've had mobile qb's. We've had Russell Shepard. This is cfb, not La 1A. In the end, a college defense will force the qb to HAVE TO make plays with his arm. A team will reach a level where their opponents will have the defensive athletes to neutralize a mobile qb that is subpar in throwing the ball downfield. I present to you, that team off I-20, east of La that shall remain nameless. They pulled their 2 yr starter in the NCG and brought in a more dynamic passer, in order to win the game. Case closed. If we have a really mobile athlete that can make crucial plays with his arm when forced to, bring it.

Consider this....If the goal is to have a successful season and at the same time Beat Bama, a true Dual Threat QB that can throw gives us the best chance. Look at the teams that have been successful in recent years.

I remember thinking that Jared Goff was going to be good as the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft before his similar frame was broken in half by NFL players. Oh wait, that hasn’t happened has it? Goff still only weighs 205 lbs, which is less than MB will be at next fall.

I think there should be more concern about LN’s knees holding up than MB breaking in half.

My sauces are telling me that McMillan is actually making a strong push for the job next year. In a way, it does make a little bit of sense. Starting a younger QB (MB) could cause LN and JM to transfer. This would leave us with only one scholarship QB on the roster and could pose a huge problem. I know that all of the hype is surrounding Myles, but is it possible that Justin gets the start, at least against Miami?
