Stop making things up. It happens rarely, not commonly.

So you only know about Gibbs from LSU, any other colleges in particular you know about?

this argument is going nowhere and that's ok.

To each his own, I know that baseball has on the fly strategy.

The situations you bring up about basketball are similar conversations that happen in baseball.

It's ok you love basketball, baseball is still my favorite.

Its an lsu thread, I used an lsu example.

Don't worry about what I know, focus on what you apparently don't.

I agree with the lack of support for basketball. However, jones is building something special and they will come.

you lost me with this

Joe, you've already proven to be a racist that knows dick about basketball, why should anyone trust your evaluation of john caliparis coaching acumen?

his season, pitching coach Butch Thompson lets his catcher, junior-college transfer Mitch Slauter, call 95 percent of the pitches, Cohen said.

quote:

"I think it's reversing a little bit in the SEC," said Cohen, whose staff has the best ERA in the SEC. "There was a time in the '90s and early 2000s where everybody called every pitch. I think there's more faith in that guy behind the plate and not making him robotic, giving him a sense of he's got the best seat in the house and letting his intuition take over."

LSU coach Paul Mainieri takes the opposite approach while using the same quarterback metaphor.

quote:

Kentucky coach Gary Henderson thinks more catchers are calling games in the SEC than in the past. He is more flexible this season because of his trust in veteran catchers Michael Williams and Luke Maile. Henderson controls the running game, but he let Williams call about 70 percent of the pitches in Kentucky's win on Tuesday.

This is just in the SEC, it happens more then people think.

Don't confuse "everyone" with "just you". We have a stellar baseball program that everyone should be proud of and when the Box is rocking you almost feel as if it's a night game in TS.

Fan support doesn't exist for basketball because we hit several rough years and people lost interest, and it just so happened that football and baseball have done extremely well during that basketball lull space. Johnny Jones is doing a hell of a job and will bring the program back up to par and hopefully beyond.

So chill out

I'm not 'trying to come off as anything'. I guess your of the 'time out' generation. Hows that working out for us? not very well i'd say. I'll chalk you up in the 'pussifcation of america' group.

I know I'm late to this party, and I didn't read the thread so it may have been stated but....

Why when bitching about other sports do people have the propensity to knock baseball? Just because we have a thread going during the off season? We enjoy baseball. We choose to support the baseball program and we do so without shitting on the other sports. If you prefer basketball then get out and support the team. If you don't like baseball or whatever sport, then don't support them and don't click on the threads.

Thank you very much. Have a great day

Don't worry bro, when the basketball teams approaches the level of competitivness as the baseball team, the fan support will come...

If you build it, they will come...
A few Macklin's, Scales's, Blanton's and Redden's wouldn't hurt either. Consistency will not come without talented players that can play in the S.E.C. and not flunk out of school.
