Please explain this line of thinking.
Just in the past I have preferred the style of baseball ULL has played when compared to LSUs. Obviously LSU has had MUCH better talent, being a national baseball brand, they are able to pull incredible athletes from all across the country.
Unfortunately i believe that this, at times, has led to LSU players valuing their own personal stock instead of playing with the passion for the state and the school that i've seen ULL play with for Lafayette and their school.

That was not meant to be an aggressive post but simply stating my views on the program over the years when compared to other LSU championship teams of the past.
as always see yall in Omaha

I think we'll be winning a lot more mid-week games this year considering our #4 starter whoever it may be would be at least a Sunday guy on most SEC staffs.

You should stop living in the past.

You mean like only having pitchers and scoring about 3 runs a game because their hitters were shite? Because that's been their style of play for a long time. The only time in the past decade where they were competent with their bats was the last time their current head coach was on their staff.
You must have preferred the last two years of LSU offense too. Because that's what that was, except against worse pitching that LSU faced.

Deggs will do well there
Some of ULL's best teams was when he was an assistant

just don’t like that they petitioned the state to drop Lafayette from their name, making their name sound like it’s the flagship school in the state.
They need to learn their place.
I loved what Will Wade did calling that timeout in the NIT. If they won’t acknowledge that they’re a directional school, then we should make an example of them and remind everyone that they’re in no way superior to Tech or Monroe.
Difference is ULM knows it's place, unlike Tech or ULaLa.

I'm hoping he does. I will try to catch a few games if I can when LSU isn't playing. If he can do some good work there he would be at the top of my wish list when Mainieri retires. Although, if that happens, the hatred some ULL fans have for LSU will kick up a notch.

I don't think Deggs will be replacing PM at that point unless he makes some Omaha runs at ULL
LSU will go after a proven sitting head coach at a big time school because Woodward is not going cheap on that hire.

Unless it is a wknd series we probably wont. We throw inexperienced pitchers on midweek games and they throw a wknd started usually. Its their CWS.

Where in the world do you hear such nonsense? Beside from the ULL faithful, nobody that follows college baseball believes that.

Maybe you are right, but Deggs took frickin Sam Houston to a super. He had some solid teams. If he can win the SB, make regionals, and maybe reach a super with ULL, I would be 100% sold.
It's hopefully 3-5 years away, so no telling who will be the hot name then anyway.

ULL baseball is in a fair bit of a rough spot right now. With the passing of Coach Robichaux, they're having trouble keeping players. Almost an entire class jumped ship. Don't for a second forget that the players they were getting were going to play for Coach Robichaux, not for the comfortable confines of Tigue Moore Field.
ULL isn't a baseball destination for top tier talent and with Coach Robichaux gone, a new skipper at the helm, and a lot of unknowns about the caliber of the program moving forward, there are a lot of teams that are now equally as attractive for the upper mid-tier to lower top-tier talent pool that ULL was mainly recruiting.
Hopefully Coach Deggs can put together a decent season and show everyone that ULL's ship isn't sinking and start getting that roster healthier. One of the things I love about LSU baseball is how it makes an effort to regularly schedule the other in-state teams so we get to see them all play. When we're all fielding good teams and have steady programs, it's better to watch as a fan and it's better for the health of baseball in general for the entire state.
ETA: Coach Robichaux's former players have commissioned a statue to be placed outside Tigue Moore on the 15th. If you're a fan of ULL baseball, maybe get out there for that game. Coach was a hell of a coach and a hell of man.

The last time he was there was the last time they knew how to hit. Before and after that, they've been swinging toothpicks.
So for someone to say they prefer that style of offense is patently fricking stupid.

I think Deggs is a good coach, but the ceiling for non-P5 programs gets lower every year as spending increases for P5s across the country.
Even Robichaux was having trouble keeping up, and he was a damn good coach (and especially person).

as far as I can remember, (late 80's - present) USL/ULL has always played aggressive "small ball". Tony believed in bunting runners into scoring position, then forcing opposing infielders to make plays and beat you. The Cajuns have never been about "gorilla ball" or leading the SBC in HR's.
The USL/ULL baseball mentality has been get a runner on 1B, then sacrifice, bunt, or steal a base to the runner into scoring position. In 2000 when they finished 3rd in the country and beat Clemson at the CWS, the Cajuns executed 2 clutch bunts in the B9 to force throwing errors and win the game.
Personally, I don't care if LSU wins or loses vs UL. LSU has bigger fish to fry and needs to win the 3-game series vs. A&M, Vandy, ARK, MSU, FLA, etc... in order to host a Regional and Super then kick-azz in Omaha.

Nobody, even in Lafayette, is saying the Cajuns are better then LSU. Only two seasons where I think the argument could have been made were 07 and 14.
The LSU vs ULL comparison is so tired. They are not rivals, nobody in Lafayette thinks that they are. Cajuns have a SEC caliber park and fan base and are continuing to try to build their brand in college baseball. Top to bottom we are a top 40 program nationwide. LSU is a top 5 program nationwide.
I’ll say this, I grew up with season tickets to LSU baseball in the 90s and it was amazing what kind of impression the atmosphere of the Box left on me, but after playing for the Cajuns for my college experience, the atmosphere at The Tigue is unequaled
