I’m sure at some point in 2018 we called for Burrow’s head too, but that’s besides the point. Who’s the last starting QB we wanted to remain the starter?

Probably Mett.
I think Etling earned respect, but no one ever thought he was the answer.

None. The backup is always better.

Daniels vs souther, Florida, ole miss, Bama

I’m not sure the Rant liked Burrow. The Rant only likes recruits, not the actual players on the team

No one ever thought he was elite, but Etling had the support of the Rant. He was far better than the backup options.

Here were people on here calling for Brennan to get reps early in 2019

The last consensus QB?
Probably Matt Mauck.
Every other QB had a better backup (according to the rant)
2nd edit:. I forgot that Matt Flynn was also beloved. This is not my opinion, just what the rant considered to be QB1

Mett. I loved his fight and grit. I think it was the Bama or Ark game when he kept getting killed in the pocket. He was on the ground and I thought he was done for, but he got back up and kept going. Showed how much of a tough MF'er he was.

Probably correct but post Mett’s numbers from 2013 and watch the Daniels haters go into psycho spin mode

There were people that thought Burrow shouldn’t have been the starter going into 2019.

People hated on Jamarcus, Jefferson, Jennings, Harris, Finley and Daniels
People loved Flynn, Mett, Lee, Etling, Burrow and Brenner

Every post. LSU fans hate the black player. Poor Damone.

When the QB is the obvious best answer.

Mett. The team was actually fun to watch during his tenure; he made things happen with his arm which was such a change from the Jordan Jefferson regime immediately precending him.

Probably Matt Mauck.
Matt Mauck was an average QB with a great coach and a great supporting cast. He was a baseball player who was a walk-on to the football team.

This is pretty accurate. Etling had the rant's support because in spite of his limited skill set, he gave it his all and his devotion to the team was unquestioned. I still can't forget the "winning" TD pass he threw to beat Auburn (the game that got Miles fired.)
