He may not start off as a Friday ace because some idiot coach thinks the fireballer or the 6'5" dude is better. I hope that doesn't happen.
So in your opinion he’s a day one Friday starter as long as their coach doesn’t get too caught up on measurables?
My opinion is he's a pitcher who knows how to pitch.
And he'll do a phenomenal job unless coaches don't hand him the ball and trust him because he doesn't throw 95.
ETA: I think he's a 10-3 Friday night guy at MSU.

quote:Yes, a fully mature pitcher will just grab another 5 mph. , he doesnt need mph, he needs better command of the zone with all his pitches.
Anyone doing heavy ball training with Aj Labas in the off season. He needs to add 4-5 mph on his fastball

While this is true

This happens all the time.

quote:It does? The thousands upon thousands of pitchers trying to get from high 80s to low 90s that fail would say otherwise. And the ones going from low 90 to mid 90 are even fewer, at 23 years old after being in a pretty damn good training program for probably 6-7 years? Just grab the ol heavy ball and pick up 5 mph?
This happens all the time.

NOPE, but now they will be games they circle on their schedule and won't be counting on as W's.
Looking forward to an much improved team even though they made a super-regional.

Takes dedication and the right arm training if you want to throw hard.

It also takes mechanics, starting with your feet on up. Your legs should be just as, if not more, exhausted than your arm.

Example, I know a friend who spent years in the minors and then with the right minor league coach added three to four miles per hour after having proper training on his leg mechanics. Went on to pitch in the majors.

Yeah everyone is gonna love facing Crews, Morgan, Berry and Dugas.
Likely lineup of
Crews
Morgan
Berry
Dugas
Doughty
Sanford catcher at dh possibly
Bianco end of the year version
Thompson
Top incoming juco or frosh
The fricking lineup averages . 320 with 13 homers per player

Let’s get a few SEC games in before we start crowing. Getting wins in the SEC will be as difficult as it has always been. We have a chance to be really good but we haven’t solved our biggest concern….starting pitchers.

NIL will even this out
No it really wont. Since they are a private school, they are able to give scholarships to kids that public universities arent. Hence why Paul made the comments he did during the season about Vandy
