Why don't you try to have some context when you throw that stat out. You act like LSU was being left behind by the rest of the SEC when in fact that 15-10 record was the third best in the SEC. Not the record we wanted, but certainly not some disgrace when compared to what the rest of the SEC was doing.
It was time for Les to go, but lets not pretend 15-10 was some kind of terrible record within the SEC.

Les was 10-10 against the West his last 20 games. With NFL talent all over our roster.
Sorry, but not much context is necessary to understand that level of underachievement.

15-10 makes LSU third best in the SEC. First or second would be better. I am not going to act like LSU was this terrible underachieving football program because it was third best in the SEC, but feel free to make that your measuring stick for the future.

Those 4 teams do not hold the top 4 spots in LSU history for scoring. The real top 4 teams are (07 -38.6, 13- 35.8, 11 -35.7 and 69 -34.9) 2006 avged 33.7 ppg which isn't in the top 6 in school history. 3 of those offenses aren't in the top 5 in ypg and their scoring was boosted by defense and special teams most noticably 2011 who avged 355.1 ypg 6th in the sec that year and by all accounts below avg for an SEC team in total offense.

two of those with saban's players.
quote:A) Except the record is for TDs by rush and pass only.
2011 the ST and D scored a ton of points and set up the O.
B) Silly to try and use this to detract anyway. That's what well coached D and ST do.

eah we shoulda scored alot in 2013 with all that damn talent!
The 2013 staff thanks you for your support.

See above reply for explanation of offensive scoring, not ppg which includes D and ST.
I know it just burns your azz to see this, but check your LSU Media Guide, Team Records, around pg 100 iirc.
You'll also find a lot of other records concerning Miles teams, JJ, JL, etc, that you'll find hard to swallow.

my apologies. I didn't know that being third out of 14 (with a roster loaded with NFL talent) is something I was supposed to be proud of. Silly me.

oh, come on, fellow. No one is saying we should beat our chest over finishing third in the SEC. Only that finishing 15-10 when that gives LSU the third best record in the strongest conference in college football is not some terrible example of underachieving.
But as I said, if you want to use third best in the SEC as badly underachieving, go ahead. Only, use it all the time. Like in 2004 when Saban couldn't even reach third best in the SEC or this coming year.

I've never said a word about Saban's record at LSU. I assess Mile's record and performance standing on its own, not by comparison to any others.
The record is what it is. All I know is, breaking it down even further, in his last 3+ years, Les was 10-7 against SEC West teams OTHER than Alabama. 10-7!!
That's just flat-out unacceptable, especially given the incredible talent Les brought in.

I think you overrate LSU's talent level.
Please don't give me the "look how many LSU players went to the NFL." This is largely irrelevant.
You have to have QB talent. We didn't.
15 NFL level players is great, but not when you have weaknesses in other positions.

Miles endured some off years and rebuilt LSU into a contender before. CEO not so much, but will pull for him regardless.
For sure I wasn't in the camp of "anybody besides Miles", the LSU GOAT win%. That's pretty retarded but where we're at.
Posted on 8/1/17 at 11:00 am to Mayhawman
I think it was time for Miles to go, but that doesn't mean hire just anyone, which is essentially what they did
Posted on 8/1/17 at 11:02 am to Mayhawman
I think we needed to replace Miles.
However, I am concerned we have traded down in HC's.

For accuracy sake:
2012: 2nd in SEC West; 4th overall in SEC
2013: 3rd in SEC West; 5th overall in SEC
2014: 5th in SEC West; 7th overall in SEC
2015: 4th in SEC West; 5th overall in SEC
2016: 3rd in SEC West; 4th overall in SEC
