Anyone ever sit there for a sec and remember Ed Orgeron is the head coach of LSU football and become dumbfounded?
All the time. Like a reoccurring nightmare.
Of course I also try to remember how in the world he has an actual buyout to said contract.

The tenure of Ed Orgeron as LSU's head coach is like an onion. There are inexplicable layers to its root and digging into each one makes you cry more each time.

I'm a pretty big O defender and I think he'll be out of a job if he loses 5 games with this defense

No because they same proganda was flying after Nick Saban was hired by the Miami Dolphins and LSU retained OSU's Les Miles on a 1.6 mill salary.
Be kidding.
Les Miles could definitely have been considered an underwhelming choice, and every LSU fan could have expected to feel that way this time around UNLESS the hire was simply a home run (and I doubt anyone would have agreed it was short of bringing Nick back.) But why pretend that hiring a guy that had won at OSU and had made them better than they had been in quite some time is anyway REMOTELY the same thing as hiring Ole Miss' worst head coach in history and a man that had not been offered an actual head coaching job since then?
Put another way...
28-21 > 10-25
Comparing Miles to Orgeron before they arrived at LSU is not the way you want to go with this.

Look at the horrible condition Miles left at LSU who NO talent. Will take a decade for Orgeron to fix ..........

To be fair, POLITICS is affecting everything in USA decision making especially college & professional football. One great example the hires in both CFB & NFL teams currently. Ed Orgeron earned his head coaching position at Southern California and they purposely and privately forced him out due to his connection with Louisiana, political persuasion and southern culture. Similarly many in here now are practicing racism and labeling it everything else. Doing a good job of it too.
My apologies to the entire board.
I earlier typed out a reasonable response to this guy, only to now see this post. I'm sorry for wasting anyone's time and for taking this idiot seriously.

How does one practice racism?

Agree completely, and also that we should stop pretending that LSU would get an A+ list hire just because it has an opening?
I agree, and it was my open letter type warning while people called for Miles' head for years. But...and it's a REALLY BIG but...there are plenty of grades between A+ and F-. There's A, and A-...B+. Hell, there's even D+.
We hired an F- when we hired a man with a career head coaching record of 10-25. There is just nothing but wishful thin king that can call him anything but that.
Sure...we may very well have not landed that A+...honestly, few do even if they turn into one some time later. But you know what? I can't think of one instance where an abysmal hired turned out great...and that's where we sit, hoping that it does here.

wtf did I just read...
And I agree with OP. Ed will not be fired if he goes 7-5.
But if I'm wrong, I am totally fine with that.

First...the Political Board is that way.<<<<<<<<<<<<<< go back to your echo chamber...you'll be more comfortable there, clearly.
Second, you just suggested that the reason Ed Orgeron was not retained by SC was due to Racism against Cajuns (

First...kudos on "scoundrel."
Second...eat a bag of dicks. I'm not a lefty and I'm laughably not racist. I'm also not a fricking idiot that would suggest a conspiracy theory to explain the obvious...which is that Ed Orgeron is not considered a good head coach because he's shown on the field that he is not a good head coach, but because he's Cajun and therefore unworthy of a head coaching job. Occam's Razor, Champ. This doesn't require some super secret conspiracy for why his arse was not asked to be a head coach.
Ad for Miles, no one really lost there shite back in 2005 when he was named HC. There was a lot of "Who?" But no one acting as if we were doomed. Once people did a little research they saw it had potential...even though nearly everyone was upset about Nick leaving.
But no one thought it anywhere remotely as bad as what we just had done to our program. hiring a man with a 10-25 career record is something some double agent would do to frick your program over...not what you'd willingly do to yourself in most cases.

I'm sure he just found the most visited LSU message board on the internet on the tail end of the Golden Era run we were on from 2000 until now. Absolutely no reason to have been here before then, to be honest.
Makes perfect sense, really.

I would be surprised if Orgeron was fired even if LSU goes 4-8. We shall see.

Hopefully he will. Alleva has to either be really stupid, doesn't care about winning big , or he just really really believes in O.

Care to type this out in English?
That being said, I was always on board with Miles and up until this assclown was named Head Coach I was universally looked at on LSU message boards as Pollyanna in my optimism. You're barking up the wrong tree if you're suggesting I was not for giving Miles time.
And...I'm not sure why I'm bothering but for the others who will read it...Miles had EARNED the "wait and see" attitude given to him by fans. Or, at least he should have by reasonable ones. He'd been a winner (though only 7 games above .500 at OSU) in his previous stop and won immediately here.
Your pal Orgeron, on the other hand, had a career 10-25 career record as a head coach. He hasn't earned jack or shite and every misstep is an indication he is the same old guy he was when he further tanked Ole Miss program.
