re: Orgeron will not be fired if LSU goes 7-5

Would love to see the results on the field this year. The SEC is still pretty top heavy compared to previous years when Arkansas had guys like Felix Jones and McFadden, and Ole Miss and Miss State were decent. It used to be much more distributed balance across the conference with more parity.
Outside of Alabama and Georgia, Auburn would be the next toughest challenge. This is actually the opportune time for Orgeron to take a huge leap forward if he is capable of doing it when Florida, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Miss State, Arkansas are all terrible and rebuilding. Just not sure Orgeron is capable of doing it.
The conference is much weaker overall than any point in the Miles era.

Lawd just go ahead and list all the top 300 players then.
Foster - No shot, was never coming here!
Anderson - No shot, played LSU wasn't coming!
Washington - No shot, played LSU wasn't coming!
Rogers - No shot, never ever would he have came here under no circumstances!
So basically, your position is that LSU is doing a great job signing all of the players that LSU signs?
I mean two of those guys went to freaking TCU. TCU!
Do you realize what arguing that LSU had "no shot" at a kid that ended up at TCU says about the state of the LSU program?

This guy gave us very reliable information last year said he will be gone with 7 and 5 season. Current DC will get 1st interview.

Why are you here if your a Michigan fan?

While this may turn out to be true 7-5 is still unacceptable

Can we all stop pretending that there is not a list of 100+ coaches that anyone could blindly throw a dart at and hit a more qualified head coaching candidate than Ed Orgeron?

To be fair, POLITICS is affecting everything in USA decision making especially college & professional football. One great example the hires in both CFB & NFL teams currently. Ed Orgeron earned his head coaching position at Southern California and they purposely and privately forced him out due to his connection with Louisiana, political persuasion and southern culture. Similarly many in here now are practicing racism and labeling it everything else. Doing a good job of it too.

This is so lazy and dishonest.
They didn't want him because they know what everyone but Alleva knows, he's not a good head coach.

Not because he's a head coach with a career losing record?

Again, why do you people think Ed O is some coaching genius that everyone has missed? Where is the evidence of this?
You can have faith and be positive, but have some awareness and rational thinking involved.

What evidence is out there that:
1) O has his own, unique vision and approach to football that drives his decision making
2) That he is a successful HEAD coach
3) That he has what it takes to build and rebuild full collegiate programs
4) That he can effectively run one side of the ball at a Masterful level
These are all usually hallmarks of "great" coaches. And hiring teams are usually looking for some combination of the above, with results that support increased responsibility and expectations. That's about as brief as I can be, but I see O not having anything but maybe the Recruiting side of Program Building. He has 0 experience or evidence in the others.

That's what Sycophants do.
Sycophants here. Sycophants there. Ignorant and uneducated "Luziana Lifer" Sycophants everywhere.
Belive me, IF the season goes south, Tiger Stadium will be record setting empty towards the end of the year. (Resembling the PMAC in JJ's last season)

Agree completely, and also that we should stop pretending that LSU would get an A+ list hire just because it has an opening? Whenever Orgeron era comes to an end, more likely than not, LSU will end up with an up and coming coordinator or a small-school head coach. It will be similar to what Tennessee, Auburn, Florida, FSU and others have settled for when their first choice turned them down.
If Orgeron can win all the games we are favored to win on the schedule in 2018 and split the Top 4 harder games plus win a bowl game, there is a chance to ride that momentum into another big signing class in 2019.
His recruiting misses in 2017 with Etienne and the RB that went to FSU are hurting him this year when we really need a feature RB to take over for Guice and help take pressure off Brennan/Narcisse.

I hope not. But we aren't winning 7, so he should be gone regardless

I actually agree that 7-5 will likely buy O another year. It's sad that we've slipped so far so fast
