Orgeron obviously has this unconstrained attachment to the pro-style offense ran at USC. That's fine. It's a great offense especially when you have an elite QB, strong offensive line, great backs, a great blocking and pass catching tight end, and great receivers. I see no reason why LSU can't fill those needs.

However, why is Ensminger the best and most innovative offensive coordinator out there to run this offense?

Is it because Orgeron has the say-so over him?

Is it because he won't be challenged by Ensminger and Ensminger will do what he wants?'

Did we go cheap? Did we even attempt to look for other offensive minds out there?

Why is it so hard for some of you to understand that this decision most likely didn't come from Orgeron and all of his top choices were shot down? I believe most of the guys with sources were correct for the most part about the interest in the others but ultimately comes down to BOS and F. King. Not defending O because he started pumping the hype for SE before and seems the board ran with it when O wanted someone else.

We're going to look at recruiting the best offensive coordinator in football and bring him to LSU,” Orgeron said. “I do believe that nowadays you have to run the spread offense. You have to have dual-threat quarterbacks that can run the ball and throw it.

O isn't devoted to a particular offensive philosophy. Ensminger is one of his boys, so it's nothing but a comfort hire for him.

I get that maybe one of his choices was shut down - Freeze. Who else? Kendall Briles? Doubt it. Sarkesian? Doubt it.

Coordinators matter, don't get me wrong. But players matter more. If Narcisse or Brennan (whoever its gonna be) are good, the LSU offense will be good. That simple. Because the running game will be there, and the skill at receiver will be strong. Just need good QB play.

You dumb arse, it's called putting your career on the line and fighting for the folks you want and selling why (in a binder) until they say yes. You’re the got damn head coach of LSU Football.

People want to coach at LSU and it doesn't take all the money in the world for someone eager and ready to boost their career.

Quit making excuses because you are a puss and can't think like a champ.

This shite show makes me long for the innovation and creativity of Army's offense.

At least Miles got who he wanted.
I pray this is just another Edxcuse or we're fricked worse than I thought if Oneofus is only Joe's puppet.
2 clueless egomaniacs running the football program= sure death.

Were they really? Or did he just throw out names he knew wouldn't be approved? I can ask my wife for a threesome but know she will not do it but then settle for just "regular" old kinky stuff..... I still won!

O has no vision for the program. He doesn't even know what offense he wants. He got his fat buyout in line and is now lining his buddy's pockets and further using Ensminger (an actual LSU guy, not a fricking mush-mouthed, shrimp boat captain conman like O) as his fall guy. He'll drive the program further into mediocrity, take the money and run.

Does O have a fall guy? If this Ensminger experiment doesn't work out, O's gone, right?

You're applying logic to the situation. That's a mistake

Based on the questions you ask above this one you know the answer and that answer is no.

Why do people think what we ran under Les & then Ensminger is a "pro-style" offense? It was a conservative abortion of an offense that only utilized the outside of the field. You make it even easier for defenses to cheat on the run if you don't put the defenders that defend the middle of the field in passing situations.

When we put in Brennan this year we seemed to open up that side of the field. But we'll never know as Ed O is most worried about developing a vertical passing game
