Some people consume too much of their own brew, that shite will can blind you. I used to take sips of my grandfather's brew, that's my excuse.

Thank God O went after Burrow because we would be in deep shite at QB once again. I hope that freshman coming in will be ready to go next year.

I really think Woodward has this game circled twice on his calendar, and Ed knows it.

I hope he does, but Orgeron better have one hell of a season if he plans on keeping his job while losing to Bama again.

I said it before: less than ten wins and a loss to the Tide and he's probably gone if Woodward can get his guy.

Teams have beaten tGumps before but unfortunately you have to do the almost impossible and beat them twice in one year as they always get a spot in the playoff.

hopefully all the dumb-dumbs who think we can make it into the playoffs without beating Bama will believe what their leader says if not everyone else.

These comments just tell me that Bama is in the team and coach’s heads.

You think Bama thinks about LSU in the off season?

Saying “We have to beat Alabama” isn’t being obsessive or single-minded; it is an admission that the commonly-stated goals of every football team (to win their conference and a national championship) happen to run through Bama for LSU and the rest of the SEC West.

While other paths exist (lose to Bama, win the rest, hope they lose 2), they are by far less likely. O realizes he was hired to win titles. His job security runs through Tuscaloosa.

ETA: What I thought was clear (but apparently not) was that he is not single-minded in the obsession to beat Bama while missing the bigger picture. The single-minded pursuit of a championship is exactly what we should have...

Your logic is superior.

Saban does. Think about his recruiting methods.

The season as a whole is a challenge. I don’t think he’s looking past anyone but, he has his work cut out for him.

Exactly. Have they lost 2 in the regular season since McElroy was QB?? Plain and simple, if we want a 'ship, we have to beat them.

You can make the playoff if only game you lose is Bama

I think the current plan is to have Myles Brennan step in for 2 years but if he get's beat out, than that guy becomes the man.

A player told me everyone was super tight before that game.Startted with Miles ,but O has to get it done. I believe we are talented enough we just need to believe.

I agree totally. Some fans are looking for the easy way out though. Lose to Bama and hope the rest of college football helps us out. Loser mentality.

I'll give the coach credit, he knows that beating Bama has to happen and there is no easy way out.

Sure, but you’d likely then have to...beat Bama.

Definitely! Coach O isn't adding any more pressure to win against Bama, that pressure already exists and I imagine will only grow with intensity as LSU accumulates wins this season.

No one but coach O has the balls to state the obvious what the fan base & media already know. Lincoln Riley would never say that about Texas nor would Herman say that about Oklahoma. We have a very unique coach here in Baton Rouge.
