Oregon's four losses!!

I rarely post and i'm not sure if this has been mentioned but here’s another view of the Oregon/LSU game. Since Chip Kelly has taken oven in 2009 Oregon has lost a total of four games. Those games were lost to Boise State, Stanford, Ohio State and Auburn. After a looking into this a little I found a common them with all four of Oregon’s losses. Each one of these teams had more than one week to prepare. Boise had all summer, Stanford had a bye-week and Ohio State had the bowl prep layoff time. The same goes with Auburn. The only team that Chip Kelly has beaten with more than a week to prepare so far is New Mexico State. And it’s very obvious that the talent levels of those two teams differ immensely. In conc So with that said hopefully the trend will continue with the Tigers on top.

It is also interesting to point out that they were unable to score 20 points against any non-conference opponent.

Another thing all 4 of those teams had in common was a decent qb.

Good find, but I would guess he has beat teams after their bye weeks before.

all of your posts have 2 things in common: they suck, and they are always talking negatively of players, namely JJ.
Hang it up, brah.

The fact that Boise had a decent QB doesn't explain why Oregon only put up 8 pts against them. Auburn's D was towards the bottom of the SEC and they held the Ducks to 19. I like our defense + Jordan managing the game against Oregon.

Give me any of the above mentioned teams qbs and I'd like LSU chances even better.

For the most part, those were all close games. So, I wouldn't sleep on Oregon, even with time to prepare.
Areas that I think bode well for LSU. The D-line, talent level, health, and depth.
- Boise State and Auburn's D-Line ate Oregon up. That was the major difference in those games.
- These 4 opponents were the few highly ranked teams they've played that have SEC talent. So Oregon's athletes aren't running circles around inferior players.
- LSU gets this game at the beginning of the year and luckily hasn't been battered by the SEC schedule.
- LSU will have more depth at the lines and skill positions than Oregon. The blur scored alot of points in the 2nd half when the opponents wore down (Stanford '10 & Tenn '10).
I question the results of the rest of Oregon's schedule. They have a great system for attacking the opponent's fitness, depth, and discipline. I admire Chip for developing a system to exploit that. But, I'm not convinced it works when facing equal (or better) talent and depth.

Oregon will face a much tougher team this year than last year against Au! The Tigers have a much tougher Def.,An a better Of.than last year. Should be a great game, but I think the tigers win in a close one.

There's nothing you can do about the Qb situation. Get over it and move on.

What is the point of putting the "Geaux Tigers" emoticon up after taking a swipe at your quarterback?

But this thread isnt about that. In fact, it speaks more to the point that UO's offense puts up dismal efforts against quality opponents with time to prepare. If you want to talk bad about JJ, start a thread that pertains to that. Then watch it get whacked.

That's a bold statement.

If any LSU d-lineman can come close to being as disruptive as Nick Fairley for all 4 quarters, I would put all my money on LSU. Cam Newton and Auburn's offense was out of sync and looked awful during that game. Nick Fairley won that game for them.

The common theme is "rested". Oregon beats teams that have far superior talent by wearing them out. Teams that are well rested beat them.

Hopefully we build enough depth in the front 7 to make it through all four quarters. The Ducks don't worry me until the final 15 minutes. Hopefully we have a 2 score lead by then and just run it down their throats.

I'd agree with that. Cam didn't do them any favors by missing wide open receivers in the end zone on multiple occasions.
I also really enjoyed watching Boise stuff Blount the entire game.
