I'm not buying that Oregon State is so much better than LSU

Let's see...

Strength of schedule. 89

It's impressive, but that record wouldn't look anything like that with an SEC schedule

well, they did sweep Vanderbilt out of their super regional, so there's that.

Records are hard to predict. You can gripe about strength of schedule all you want, but don't forget we lost to UNO and Tulane twice each, and lost to McNeese St also.
If you go by our record vs teams that made the regionals, we were 16-10 in the regular season. Good, but not overwhelming. We were 2-5 vs teams that made it to Omaha.

They didn't play anyone that made it to Omaha, but they did play some teams that made regionals (Indiana, Nebraska, Stanford, UCLA, Arizona). They went 12-1.

Again, we had 5 losses to teams we should beat every time we play, and they had 4 total losses all year.

You can definitely make the case that we're by far the best team they've faced, and you can make the case that we can beat them.

I can't see how you can make a case on us being favored to beat them.

As they should. I'm glad it's like that because that should give them a little more motivation to stomp a mud hole in their asses

Most understand that to win 55 out of 59 games in BASEBALL is extremely impressive, given how random and drawn out the sport is. That feat hasn't been accomplished since the 80s, for good reason.

In 1989 Texas A&M started the final game of their regional 58-5 at home. They only needed to win one game out of the next two against upstart LSU to go to the CWS.

We know how that ended.

Lets see......

#1 team in the country
22 game win streak
4 losses all year
This is all fine and dandy, but what is their strength of schedule compared to lsu? Honestly asking, I haven't looked it up.

In betting parlance OSU-130 v LSU, is only a shade better than a "pick 'em" game. Probably a 55%-45% OSU chance of victory if you wanted to look at it like that. So no need in getting fired up over that line.

Who cares what the betting line is. That's why they play the game.

OSU - 130
LSU + 110

O/U 8 - 110

I'm sure it has been asked before, but can some explain what those numbers mean?

TIA
