It's gonna get to the point where teams don't want to schedule LSU for a neutral site opening game. First UNC, now Oregon.

Could be. I hear that's why Kordell Stewart left the south to go play at Colorado...

Epic fail.

The NCAA, according to sources, is also examining Lyles' relationship with Sean Nelson of Thibodeaux, La., whose own relationship with top football prospects has been scrutinized by the NCAA. Last month, NCAA investigators interviewed former Thibodeaux High School coach Dennis Lorio about Auburn's recruitment of receiver Trovon Reed and offensive lineman Greg Robinson this year. Reed signed with Auburn last year; Robinson signed with the Tigers in February.

unless the NCAA just makes up a rule (which they may), i don't see where UO did anything wrong

all major teams pay these guys for "recruiting services" or pay to have these guys' camps

Not sure why any sane LSU fan would be worried about the Tolliver situation. The "handler" only had his pay increased AFTER he left a recruiting company he was with and went on his own. It also came AFTER Lache signed.

Also, this is interesting because Lache was rumored to have been turned off by similar shenanigans at Auburn in the first place.

LSU has to be clean in this, and the link above tends to prove that thought. If LSU was paying this guy to send recruits their way, how on Earth did we miss out on Joe McKnight in our own back yard. Surely that would have been easy to write off as an in-state guy staying home and would not have raised any suspicion with the NCAA. Instead, a handler who we allegedly was allegedly sending recruits LSU's way, sends a guy from New Orleans to USC? It makes not sense.

Now, the Oregon/Lache story does seem to have a bit more substance to it, but LSU seems to be crystal clear in all of this.

Easy to miss out on a recruit in your own backyard if the other teams pays more. Simple as that.

I don't necessarily believe that LSU is dirty or that this is a direct reflection on the program, but using 1 player as an example is not justification that Lyles was not steering players towards LSU.

This is a case that it would be in everyones best interest to just not say anything till we see how deep this thing really goes.

just because we may pay this guy doesn't mean he can always deliver. mcknight was angry with LA people obsessing over him and wanted to leave the state

but, let's remember we DID think that we had mcknight in the bag the night before NSD

if he had a handler, that doesn't mean the handler can guarantee results. kids still limit their optinos

nobody is clean, except maybe UT (and they have their own scandal wo cover up)

and just b/c this is shady doesn't mean it breaks any rules

UO was so confident in the legality of this THEY PUT THE PAYMENTS ON THE BOOKS

plenty of schools host these camps and pay recruiting services that amount to little more than handlers

doesn't prove any rules were broken. i don't think there are any direct rules on this
