Optimistic takes from the game

Since we’ve all aired out our concerns and glaring issues from Saturday, here’s some positive takes for the rest of the year.
1. Our guys don’t quit. Down big on the road in a conference game where they obviously were amped up and had a great game plan, the offense and defense still managed to make crucial plays/stops and claw back for the W. It’s great to know they refuse to just roll over and play dead.
2. We’ve got the talent to be so much better. The amount of just stupid mistakes hurt us more than anything. All of it is fixable and I’m convinced it will be. They may not be perfect, but this team will look much improved by Ole Miss.
3. While the offensive playcalling has been questionable at best, if Nuss would pull the ball just 1-2 times a game I would be willing to bet the run game would be a lot more dangerous. The coaches may be telling him not to run at all, but if not then he needs to start. Sloan is obviously still figuring things out and I think he’ll get more creative as the season progresses. And if Underwood makes it to campus he’s gonna have a field day with the offense.
4. Finally (and some of you will disagree), I don’t think BK is good enough to turn LSU into a powerhouse like Georgia or Alabama, but I still believe he’s a good coach. Regardless of if you think it’s up to par, he’s got the program back to competing. Besides the two years with Joe Burrow, LSU did not have a 10 win season since 2013. So maybe he won’t last the full 10 years, but let’s not act like we have Sunbelt Billy. The guy is doing a decent job considering what he inherited. Could it be better? Definitely. But there’s no reason to melt just yet.
But if we lose more than 3 games this year I’ll probably recant all of this lol.

This team has NO playmakers. Special teams is still a threat to lose any given game. Why cannot BK sort this out?

Your defense did good most of the game and gave you a chance to win. Defense had quite a few 3 and outs..
-South carolina beat you like a drum the first drive
-block punt to setup a 12 yard td
-75 yard qb run
-66 yard rb run
Besides that you shut them down (if my aunt had balls she’d be my uncle, i know)

our defense was stout up the middle
I like Aaron Anderson a lot, CJ made good plays too.
Durham is our RB1

We prolly will lose at least 3 more....pretty tough schedule.
Keep supporting them and the future is bright, IMO.

This team will get better every game

He needs to stop leaving points off the board. And take the 3 points. That is something all three previous heads coaches were good at.

These run-fit busts in back-to-back games are killer. South Carolina had no business scoring 33 points yesterday.
LSU has got to get that fixed. Sorting that out would make this defense much more effective. The issue is twofold. LSU lacks the personnel to be great up front, and Baker is teaching the defense to attack, and for a lot of these guys, that means taking themselves out of the play.

Another optimistic take is South Carolina won at Kentucky 31-6 while Georgia only beat Ken 13-12

My list:
1. Nuss got the big "gotta have it" come from behind win on the road for his scalps on the wall thing. This is my imaginitive description of building his mental toughness. He now has "IT" at least for a while.
2. Running game made improvements. Most may not have noticed but Durham's runs were helped by better play alignments. Last week on his first carry he got kissed on the mouth by an unblocked DE as soon as he got the ball. This week he actually got into space he could work with.
3. 0, 1, 2, 4. What is that you ask. Your go to guys in the WR group.

This board has a bunch of quitters that complain after every win.

I'm thinking that this may be the case. The coaches know that without Nuss we are screwed, since up until the past weekend, we haven't been able to run the ball with any real success.

We’ve not yet seen much of TreyDez Green. He will be a matchup nightmare once he learns more of the offense.
It will be interesting to see what they do with JuJuan Johnson if the Caden Durham emergence is sustained.

Well none has been a game breaker yet.
