Coaches who have gotten domestic violence injunctions for beating women and felony battery charges for bar fights have gotten second chances. And they never knocked off Bama.
So why not Freeze?
So why not Freeze?

Less beat him 3 times, in 5 years.

He’d have to get the ok from the SEC offices first. Does it help LSU and not Bama? Probably a no go for them then

Yea other than les, and it was a long time since les beat him. Hugh was able to beat saban 2, almost 3 times in 3 years with significantly less talent that LSU.

Yea with equal talent, and during a time period where power I was a good offensive game plan, you see what that got him, 5 losses in 4 years?

He is allowed to be anything but a head coach under his probation. He doesn't have any other restrictions I'm aware of.

Guy is a brilliant offensive mind and I’d be all for getting him on staff

Not officially, no. But it was reported that the SEC office squashed Saban hiring Freeze as an analyst back in the spring.

the SEC stopped Bama from adding him as an analyst. and a couple of SEC schools - LSU included - apparently had some interest in him as OC.

I think as an analyst where he doesn’t have contact with players is his best bet to get back in coaching.

To me my own values and ethics (which are for sale and not very good, respectively) have nothing to do with it.
The only question, in my opinion, is:
Does that history hurt our recruiting if on staff?
If no, bring him on.
If yes, find someone else whose skeletons haven't been revealed yet, and when they do revisit Freeze.

I’m all for having him as an offensive analyst or QB coach. Orgeron would really have to stick his neck out for him to get him down here.

You do realize Bama won a title in 2009, and we beat them the next two years? They had trouble beating our 2008 and 2009 team, when we were not good at all, and they were national championship type teams.
You do realize we lost to Saban twice in OT, and another time on basically the last play of the game.
The last 12 times we've played them, we've had a decent qb 3 of those times. the other 9 times we trotted out guys like Jarrett Lee, Jordan Jefferson, Anthony Jennings, Brandon Harris, and Danny Etling.
The talent hasn't been equal for quite some time, at the QB position.
we aren't losing 62-7
Alabama could care less about losing to Ole Piss, or Johnny football. Those are fluke losses. When they lose to LSU, or Auburn, that's when their goals for the season become extremely difficult to attain.

I’d take him under one condition. While on LSUs clock, he says NOTHING about religion.

That's disgusting if true

guess it shouldn't be surprising, but it amazes me how so many are willing to overlook character shortcomings and lack of good decision making and frankly, just ignore history. Look at the dumpster fire Ole Miss is today. Who's responsible? No thanks.

Yeah, losses never bother Saban. He's such a carefree sorta guy.
