Believe what you want.
Not getting into a big pissing match with you over something that happened months ago.

LSU holds its players at a very high level as well. Not sure if it is less than Bama's or Clemson's. It always has and O may be upping the ante on that principle. Like you stated see KJ as an example.

And the last time we had a lead vs Bama was years ago
The last time we had a lead against Bama was in the 4th quarter of the 2014 game. Miles second to last game against them.

so it is not just O's teams that have struggled to score on their D.
Since the National Championship loss:
All Bama victories.
Games with Miles as the head coach.
2012: 21-17
2013: 38-17
2014: 20-13 (OT)
2015: 30-16
Games with O as the head coach.
2016: 10-0
2017: 24-10
2018: 29-0
Big difference in my opinion.

Miles was failing at the end toward Bama.
No worse than than what o has done. Actually, it's quite a bit better. In my opinion.

I don't get it. We've scored 10 points in three years in that game.
He has talent at his fingertips that most HCs dream of. But let's just wait one more year. I'm tired of this.
Get it done. There are no excuses.
Why shouldn't O be held to the same standard as Miles? Am I expecting a national championship this year? No.
How about winning the West. I'll be satisfied with that.

Okay. Keep your head in the clouds. The world needs more REALISTS.
FIFY. What you call a fantasy is reality. But ignorance is bliss. Folks with a clear mind can see how we were hosed and that we won that game many times over. But officiating and the powers that be were not going to let it happen. But you keep living in your own fantasy world.
More "REALISTS" you say? If I go and look up what LSU's record was for the 2018 season, will it say 10-3 no matter what site I go to, or will it say 11-2?
My money's on 10-3. and the thing about that is that's the reality of what the records will show.

I don't disagree with you that we got hosed. But like it or not, these things happen sometimes.

You're the one living in the fantasy word by claiming that we won 11 games last year.

I don't get it. We've scored 10 points in three years in that game but it's usually, "just let him figure it out." That is THE game for the season. I don't get it.
Yeah. 10 big points. And everyone wants to bad-mouth the last staff that was here for how bad they performed against Bama.

I agree. Coaches were fired for underachieving and new coaches were brought in get the team to play for championships. It's time for that to happen. There shouldn't be no more 3 (or more) loss seasons.

why did we fire Miles if we were content with 9-10 win seasons and second place division finishes? We were already getting that.
I’ve seen this point made on here and I think it’s a bit of a misrepresentation of what’s happened the last few years with LSU football.
I pretty much agree with this. I don't think it's really a fair comparison. We're talking about a coach that established his culture over an 11 year period vs a coach that is now going into his 3rd year and is trying to establish his culture and his type of players. I disagree with those that say Miles left the cupboard bare, but any coach is going to want his type of players in his program.
Everyone has been agreeing and I will say it again, the 3rd year is the "show me" year. We will find out a lot about Ed Orgeron in 2019. I hope he kicks everyone's asses up and down the field. There's no denying that he's a very good football coach. You don't just luck into being a part of some of the teams he's been a part of. It's time to find out if he's a very good or excellent head coach.

I said exactly what I wanted to say. I think Coach O has done a great job since the Troy loss. He could have easily have lost that team and he didn't. That's a great coaching job. Stop trying to find negative things in people's posts to bitch about.

Too harsh on HCs IMHO.
You may be right. LSU football is the sport I'm most passionate about and that probably means it's the one that I'm most irrational about. I decided last spring that I wanted to give Coach O a chance. I was very supportive even after the losses last season. I think the only time I lost my shite was when we came put ultra conservative vs SELU.

The man has went above and beyond expectations so far.
Are you referring to the expections of the coach or the expectations of the program? IMO those are two very different things.

O came in halfway through the year to take over a team that was floundering and unranked. See? I can spin facts however I want too.
This is true, but I would ask did LSU lose to Wisconsin and Auburn due to talent or coaching? Same for the Florida game. LSU absolutely had the talent to got 11-1 that season. It wasn't a talent issue at all.

you tell them my friend........

I don't get it, Peej. I'm in no way saying Miles left a championship caliber program and/or roster. I also understand that every coach needs the customary 3 years to build the program the way he wants to build it. However, I just can't understand when people say that Orgeron inherited a depleted roster or a rebuild when we saw on the field that LSU should have won the Wisconsin, Auburn and Florida games in 2016 to go 11-1.

LSU winning 11 (because I refuse to count tamu as a loss, bc we got jobbed and won the game on the field) games last season with the question marks
Haha. So you claim aTm as a win...am actual game that we played and lost. But you wont count mcneese as a win for miles on 2015? Honestly

So you're saying LSU hired him with low expectations? That's grand! Every teams fans expect great results. Fact is, only 4 can make it into the cfp.
You seriously think his first 2 years is EXCEEDING expectations for a school like LSU?

I don't get why just saying the man is doing a good job isn't enough for some people. Why is there a need for hyperbole? Same with some of the morons that chime in and say he sucks. It's just not true.

But if Miles was HC last year we don't beat UGA, the number 2 team at the time, PERIOD!
The last 5 pages is nothing but y'all posting statements like this as facts. You have no clue what would've happened, and history actually disagrees with you.
I'm with everyone else, it was time for him to go. However, we're not where we need to be as a program. Hopefully this year changes that

Based on the fact Burrow was one of the main reasons we won and he would not been at LSU under Miles
My Lord, Once again...not a fact at all. Miles just a few years earlier went out and got a grad transfer. Burrow came because there was immediate playing time for a contender.
Posted on 7/28/19 at 6:33 am to TigerLunatik
Precisely. He's done well...not great. Simple as that. LSU is one of the most consistent programs in the country over the last 18 years. The expectations are and should be to be in the discussion for the playoffs late into the season. We haven't.
