Here’s the thing...#FreeDevinWhite is nice and all but it makes for a weak overall narrative. It’s too easy to say “you guys are whining about one call one player” “bad calls happen occasionally”, etc.

No, we aren’t leaving the SEC. The SECNetwork money is huge and we aren’t walking on that.
No, they aren’t relocating the SEC office, either. Simply not a realistic narrative push.
Say Devin White is reinstated. Does that fix the systemic problem? We’d still be facing the crimson team and the black/white striped team next Saturday. Realistically, the SEC can’t overturn the suspension now anyways. It would set a precedence that a screaming fan base can change their decisions. They simply can’t have that and I’m not sure we, or any fan base, would want that.
The narrative push needs to be towards two things: a fair appeals process for bogus calls (not bad calls, bogus calls) including changes to the replay review process and a second appeal process for bogus reviews; and, a move towards nationalized, NCAA officials rather than conference-based officials.
Devin’s patently incorrect suspension is a localized issue. #FreeDevinWhite is certainly bringing a lot of watchful eyes to the situation but we need hashtags and memes that will engender support from all 12 SEC schools not based in the state of Alabama (recall, AU gets there fair share of slanted calls, too).
Let’s focus our creativity on meming Steve Shaw out of power rather than overturning one fraudulent call.
