This begs the question:

What the hell are our conditioning coaches doing? How can a team from the heat and humidity of south Louisiana wilt like that?

Texas doesn’t condition any worse weather than we do but we looked like a team that had never saw heat and humidity before

It is a different type of hydration, most of your sweat evaporates in the lower humidity and dehydrates you sooner and requires you rehydrate more than you think you need to.

don't know who exactly is to blame for that but I have no idea how you scheme around having no defensive line

we go two deep with quality depth across the board for the first time in ages.

Fehoka, Lawrence, Shelvin followed by Logan, Jenkins, Ika, and Farrell, Then Chaisson backed by Anthoney at D End Rush LB

Bama at Texas A&M 2013

Sometimes you just have to give credit to a great offensive performance. I don’t disagree that the defense has a lot of work to do, but I have full faith in Dave Aranda.

Hopefully it was just a one-off performance by the D (technically a half-off).

Well, I think we had 7 guys go down with cramps or other injuries on the D while Texas might have had 1, so that was a concern.

next time we play a quality team will be in mid October so wont be an issue from here on out

Nega Tigers are a dying breed on this board.

Or at least they should be.

It's called the First Amendment. You can go elsewhere if you don't like the criticism. LSU's defensive performance last night was unacceptable.

The adjustment that needs to be made, and I AM SURE Aranda and Orgeron know this now, is that they thought going into this game and for this season as a whole, that our front 4 would be enough to get persistent pressure on an any team. Thus they game planned that way. Now they realize they will have to bring the blitz as a regular thing (like last season) and will start game planning to bliz.

and of course that also. When your DL's are getting held to that degree, it is difficult to get pressure. It was rather bizzare the amount of holding that the refs allowed

Great to have the "Saints offense" but how many SuperBowls have the Saints won in the last decade?
What about the Patriots?
Difference = DEFENSE.
Aranda looks more and more like fool's gold who just took LSU for a Miles Powerball
Part II deal.
Imagine the highest paid DC in the country being our biggest liability along with our "guru" strength and conditioning coach.

I wonder how much of our rush was designed to keep the TX QB in the pocket as opposed to going for sacks?
I know they would have liked to do both but I think we were more concerned with his running ability than his arm going in.

Aranda is the person that needs to pull his head out of his arse. Defense in the 2nd half was pathetic. So much for those "great" Aranda halftime adjustments.

It's one game against the second best QB we will face.

Well LSU defense gave up 400 yards in the air and 120 on the ground and couldn’t stop them in the 2nd half. Pretty concerning.

The good news is our offense was clicking too. It was a fun game to watch and we won.

But yes, this thread is proof that fans are somewhat cautious about our hyped Defense.

Miles would still be running players into walls if it were up to ppl like you. The defense didn’t play well and it’s perfectly ok to say that.
