I leave with Burrow

Posted by mark fortney on 1/18/20 at 3:54 pm
I came South with him and I'll head back to Buckeye land now that he's gone.
I urge you to be gentle with Coach O next year as you will be getting a new DC for sure and maybe a new OC.
You should be safe in all your games but these and I'll note how many underclassmen they are losing compared to you.
LSU 9
TX 0
FL 1
BAMA 5
AUB 2 PLUS THE PUNTER
A&M 4
Thanks for giving Joey football a chance and good luck to you next year.
At what point in the game do they stop checking for tickets?
Could you stroll in at half time?
The answer to your question lies in the strength of the SEC.
If Bama, Florida, Alburn, and GA are as good as advertised then we roll over them----if the Sec isn't as tough as we think then this could easily be a game.
My concern is centered on CEH and what he brings to the offense.
If he can be replaced we are okay--if not we will lose our matchup advantage if we have to sub a lot more than we have all year.
If he plays and is 90% or better....buy your tickets for the 13th.

Son, grandsons, and myself will be watching from section 219.
The only question I have is whether your mom is pissed you dug up her yard or is she just happy you finally went out of her basement for something?

If CEH is out it's next man up.

If we are a National Championship team we will have to show some depth at RB just like we have with the O-Line all year.
I think we replace him (if needed) with a committee.
Burrow will be ready and he'll be bringing his buddies.
Unless he wins a Natty that dumb comment will be what he's known for the rest of his career.
The "Play of the Year" happened in the Fiesta Bowl when he picked himself up off the turf after slobber-knocker hit and pick six.
He showed the team they were being led by a MAN and they haven't looked back since.
I don't think we should discount the TX game as much as I see on here.
They had national title aspirations and saw them crushed at home by us---a team few were picking to win the SEC let alone be a playoff team.
This board was full of I'll believe it when I see it messages.
Let's flip the scrip and say they recover the onside and then score---would they have turned out so bad and we so good?
It was a top ten win on the road and should count as such.
Great read and thanks for sharing.
Your total points would be determined by the record of the teams you beat.
Arkansas and Alabama would give you the same first level points but Bama would give you a lot more secondary points because of their record.
It takes the "Eye Test' out of it and rewards you for playing tougher teams----or do you prefer how it is now?
Ohio has a point system to determine your team's ranking.
It is based on the size of your school (the NCAA could do this by making all teams in the power five conferences worth the same points and throw in some independents if warranted) and how the team you beat does that season.
You get zero points for a loss.
It gives teams the incentive to schedule tough opponents.
You could play around with this but it would take the "Eye Test" out of the decision making.
Ohio State learned this during the Tressel Era.
Schedule creampuffs and win the league and league championship and you are in.
Alabama and Clemson were quick studies and do the same thing.
If LSU had a soft non-league schedule and then won the league and SEC Championship they would go to the playoffs.
Great Post!
All we have to do is beat anybody they put in front of us.
Everything else is just noise. :geauxtigers:
This makes sense if you view yourself as a future NFL corner.
Why come to LSU and sit or share time for 2 years when you can go someplace else and start?
I would think that running backs would look at it the same way.
Your O and D lineman probably realize that they still have to get stronger to play at the next level and will be more patient.
Would Stingley have signed if Greedy had stayed?
We had a kid all ready in the fold who left because he wasn't willing to wait his turn at corner.

If our D plays at the A&M level we will win a National Championship.
We may still win one even if they fall back into their old ways...but it will be a lot dicier.
I'm with you.
Line'em up and we'll knock them down.
 :geauxtigers:
I'm with you Tigeralltheway.
I just want us to get in the door---after that it will sort itself out and if we are the best team---we'll win 2 no matter where we are seeded.
