One group thinks Fla has LSU's number, the other thinks Aub's defense is too much for LSU

There's a group of fans that agree with BR's radio sports jock Moscona that Fla's offensive head coach Dan Mullen and DC Todd Grantham have LSU's number and will continue to. There's another that agrees with former NFL and LSU QB Rohan Davey, that Aub's defense is similar to Clemson's championship-caliber defense, that Aub's defense plays much different than LSU's and appears too tough for LSU's offense to overcome. To quote Rohan who has watched both this season, "the two secondaries look and play totally different."

All I'll say is this, they're all assuming this one thing, that there's actually a college defense out there that can slow down or stop Joe Burrow and Brady's offense, assumption is the mother of all screwups!

I’m more worried about Aub

Dan is a hell of an offensive coach but that dude can’t keep up with burrow and Brady

I see it as, both Fla and Aub having quality offenses and defenses that compliment each other. Most Tiger fans are still waiting on LSU's defense to do the same. Burrow may have to carry LSU to the SEC title.

Please enlighten me here.

What have either of these teams done that has solidified their offenses as quality?

If you think that we're not going to be in a game where we're fighting tooth and nail to win, then you're in for a rude awakening. Every team has a close call along the way.

LSU averages around 55 ppg.

So "slow down" the offense to 45 points or so? Maybe. But I wouldn't bet all my lunch money on that.

I'm not disagreeing with you on that point. There'll be a nail biter or two for LSU, but no college defense is going to stop or significantly slow down Burrow and Brady.

I think our offense can handle either teams defense. The tale of the tape will be our defense and how it performs

There’s nothing wrong with not steamrolling everyone. If you think Clemson is incapable of being in the playoff bc they only beat UNC 21-20, just remember Syracuse gave them all they could handle last year.

As long as we win those games, it doesn’t matter.

Well, for starters auburn put up 55 last week on Mississippi State, there running the ball great and there qb threw for 330 yards.

Florida's offense is better with trask, he only threw 4 incompletions against towson and won 38 to 0..thats not super impressive, but there better then we thought after that miami game..

Just like no one would be able to stop LF7. I’m not convinced we’re gonna light everyone up like a pinball machine.

You do realize that they changed qbs and had 3 turnovers in that Syracuse game, right? Clemson has regressed this year and it's obvious, they have looked very pedestrian compared to their expectations. Clemson is nowhere near as good as they were last year and I personally think they shouldn't even be in the top 6. They would lose 4 games in the sec this year.

Fla, Aubie and Bama
Probably drop 2 of these, possibly all 3.

s2 - Southdowns

Just an off-topic note. The Southdowns bar used to be the best place to hang out in BR. Way back, shot plenty of pool and won plenty of beers there, and the scenery was fantastic. Lots of great memories, thanks for reminding me of that bar. Once, this guy kept betting me beers that his gorgeous girlfriend would eventually beat me in a game of pool.

You are a sad fan. I don’t even know that you qualify as being a fan.

Either you are trolling or you are an idiot

Merriam-Webster defines a fan as “a very enthusiastic supporter or admirer.” The word fan itself came about as a shortened form of the word fanatic, meaning “marked by excessive enthusiasm and often intense uncritical devotion.”

Serious question: Do you think you qualify as a fan of LSU?

The defense hasn't proved itself as being truly dominant and that has many to give these predictions. These predictions are understandable.
This Utah State game is very important from a defensive standpoint. We need to dominate like a top 5-6 team should. This is the source of all doubters. Need some defensive mo going into the Fla game.
