Here's a solution to whoever wants Paul gone, stop going to the games. When the stands have more empty than occupied seats the AD will notice. Otherwise quit saying fire Paul while you are at the game supporting him.

I like Paul but we choke in Omaha no matter how great our Regular season record is, we choke. Competition has gotten tougher and Paul hasn't adapted. Same ole, same ole....if we don't make it to Omaha this year that is on him and we should have a change.

Have you been to a game lately? Attendance is crap and so is the atmosphere. Ole Miss and State's atmosphere's blows the box out of the water.
The only reason we lead the nation in attendance is because they go on paid attendance and people won't give up their season tickets because its so hard to get them back.

The game is more popular

More teams are increasing their resources and the assistant coaches from the schools of successful programs such as LSU cal st Fullerton etc are coaches now too.

Because it's a new generation. When I grew up in Louisiana in the 80s we played basketball, baseball, football, track or soccer every weekend if not every day. That's not true any more. They watch realty shows instead. A lot of the high schools don't have sports programs either. So people are more concerned about hiring and firing coaches. You can't blame the coach of every sport. It's the fans. That's just the way sports are - if you don't play them and know the rules and the nuances they can be boring and frustrating to watch, regardless of whether we win national championships or not.

And yet you still dont want to provide the names that do accomplish more than him that would realistically come here
why did you tack on that last part? how do you know what's realistic? how do you know who would come here and who wouldn't?

and yes, learn to use google. you can answer your own question

Lol, this is seriously going along the same exact lines as Les Miles a couple years ago.

Uh oh, sounds like Nolan Cain is in line to be the next coach then.

This. The old Box had much more personality. It seems like the old Box brought out the diehard baseball fans. The new Box is more of a social gathering place. It's a place to be seen.

I really think they tried way too hard to mimic the old Box when they built the new one. They should've made a completely new, fresh stadium IMHO. Something like South Carolina. Also, like somebody else mentioned, we need areas like State and Ole Miss have behind the wall.

The New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers consistently spend more in their respective leagues than any other team.

Yet the Yankees have not won the World Series since 2009 and the Dodgers haven't won the WS since 1988
and pro teams comprise the top few percentile of all baseball players in the world. totally, totally different level of competition. college baseball is significantly more disparate.

also, the yankees have been in 40 world series. apparently they are getting their money's worth. lsu, not so much.

last, you are yet again only looking at who won the world series instead of looking at postseason competitiveness so, your sample size is skewed and thus doesn't address the criticism of mainieri

quote:

So much for your "LSU spends more than other teams therefore it should win the the CWS more."
not exactly as i just stated. also, i never said lsu should win the cws more. my gosh you people absolutely cannot accurately reproduce what someone says.

Notice the stadium next time too. It's half empty and 90% empty after 7 innings regardless.

Hey OP. Since you are running low on Monistat and will be out of commission next weekend, can I have your tickets to give to my 11 and 14 yr old kids who are better fans than you?

frick you very much.

he makes vague statements and doesn't back them up
i told you to go look at my posts where i did provide this info but i understand you are too lazy and obtuse so, here you go

cws record since 2010 baseball season:
florida/o'sullivan: 3-8
tcu/scloss: 8-8
ttech/tadlock: 1-4
uva/o'connor: 11-5
ark/horn: 2-4
vandy/corbin: 11-6
ucla/savage: 9-5
unc/fox: 3-4

THERE'S YOUR FRICKIN NAMES.

all those schools/coaches are at least or more competitive than mainieri over the last 7 years. even if they are investing as much as lsu is (which i have shown they aren't), they are producing better results. my question remains the same: why would an lsu fan be ok with this? lsu barely lands in the top 10 over 7 years. why are you nitwits defending mainieri when he is clearly falling short?

before you go laughing at ark, unc or ttech, you might want to check out the lastest rankings or in ark's case the current standings.

Yet, somehow, some teams, and some coaches find a way to rise to the top
this is what i've been asking. while the pm crew has been offering excuse after excuse, why don't the schools i listed have to offer those same excuses? what are they doing that mainieri isn't in order to win more in omaha?

It's hard to recruit baseball in general. If a kid isn't going to the MLB he's not just going to come to LSU because he gets an offer. All of the SEC has great facilities and coaches. Most kids would rather play for "their" team than come to LSU
EXCUSES.

why don't the schools i listed have to use this excuse? they are consistently winning more in omaha than mainieri.
