I watch LSU for entertainment, not anything else, if they win it is great, if they lose it is not but I still enjoy watching. The PM saga will play itself out over time.

I refuse to sit and hand wring over it and let any of the petty bullshite take the enjoyment from me.

Perfectly stated, and the only rational view.

How can someone not be happy with the win yesterday? The only real answer is they choose to be miserable.

They want Paul to be included in their misery. They are absolutely pissed he got his 1500, and that is sad. It’s yet another indication that he was a pretty good coach for a pretty long time.

I’m happy he got his milestone, hope we make some post season noise and he rides off into the sunset. It’s time.

I pray PM wins the CWS and sticks around another 4 years just to piss em off.

Now, we know that isn't going to happen, but damn, wouldn't it be sweet.

This is a perfectly rational viewpoint and one that probably minimum 75% of our fan base holds. Paul’s old, has his accolades, and the program is now on the decline.

Time to move on and get back to being in the national seed discussion year in, year out at this time of year but this season has no bearing on next season. Would rather have a chance to make a postseason run than not get the shot at all

No. Every game is another game’s worth of experience under these young players’ belts. Earning post-season play this year can pay dividends come next year when our new coach gets us back there. Experience. Experience. Experience. You have a loser’s mentality.

You're a fan of ULM, the poorest, most inept athletic program in the nation for the last 30 years, and you're trying to lecture LSU fans about success. It's really kinda cute.

I’m all for winning, if nothing else, it decreases the amount of time between the end of baseball season and the start of football. The less offseason the better.

And it’s a fan like you that’s an embarrassment to our fan base.

It was a big win regardless. Fun game to watch. A lot of young kids stepped up and won the game. We are allowed to be excited for the win, excited for the team, and excited for PM’s accomplishment.

Regardless of what the future holds. We are allowed to find some positive in the game.

RTS, I have always respected your posts and will continue to do so (especially the OB). Always a level head from what I’ve read. You’re partially correct about my mindset. But when I have some of my suspicions about how CPM runs this program confirmed, it’s tough for me hear people still sing his praises. What we have seen CPM become is essentially the extension of Smoke Laval’s era. There are certain things in my mind that he has done that are absolutely unacceptable for someone in his position. Therefore, he has zero respect from me no matter how many games he wins. And honestly, for so many fans not to see what’s so obvious, is frustrating to me.

100 percent agree.

our new coach

We can only hope. And I would venture a guess that whoever this will be, will UNDOUBTEDLY be better at recruiting, developing, and in game managing of the players. So really, having a new coach is more important than playing half a dozen more games. Especially, when the majority of these kids would normally be playing all summer long. They aren’t just going to be sitting inside playing video games.

So...

I’m sure he loses sleep knowing you don’t respect him.

I’m sure he doesn’t. I’m just a peon fan. But something I’m just as sure of, he doesn’t sleep better knowing another peon fan is blindly supporting him.

Something I would also guess he doesn’t lose sleep over is his performance during the games, during practices, on recruiting trips (oh that’s right, he forgot that’s apart of the job), during meetings with his staff (if he even has them). And that’s a big part of the problem.
