Be honest about this.

LSU was not the goal for Simmons. A multimillion dollar contract and lottery pick were. Academics were NEVER a decision factor for LSU or Simmons because BOTH parties new exactly what was going on and used each other. LSU benefited because we all bought into the hype and seats and TV coverage. Simmons benefited because LSU allowed him to come and play ball and didn't require him to do much more than that. The few comments about him not doing much at LSU amaze me since the kid was statistically one of the best players in the country. He is going to be a very good NBA player jump shot or not.

By the way, Simmons had less to do with the failure season than coaching. Johnnie Jones as a major school basketball coach is a fraud.

I didn't watch the documentary, but after hearing things about Simmons .It seems he was the bigger part of the Lsu chemistry issues last year, while Quarterman and Johnny received most of the blame

At the end of the season, there weren't many that thought this. The dust has settled and it has become pretty obvious that we weren't going to win with him.

He was a total arse when they showed him taking pictures with people on the parade grounds. The guy acted like he was above everyone. Every other athlete at LSU would love and embrace that popularity.

frick that guy.

Guy is a POS. Wish he would keep LSU out of his mouth. He is lazy and nothing but trouble.

With his attitude and work ethic I doubt he succeeds at the next level. Time will tell.

This.

I coach kids soccer and had a couple on my team that can honestly end up playing in stadiums with development. The problem is that they think they're too good for training and criticism. I removed them from my team because they affect the chemistry and attitudes of their teammates. Their own head is their biggest obstacle.

I see a lot of that in Simmons. I know he trains a lot, but the things that come with real focus just aren't there. Defensive intensity and lack of a jump shot are good indicators. Maybe getting pushed around in the NBA will wake him up, but time will tell.

He was the most hyped LSU athlete in over a decade. He came here and looked like he didn't care. He had no respect or drive to even attempt his acedemics. He was drafted one overall simply because of his size and potential, not what he produced on the court. Once he was gone he has slung mud at LSU and his time here.

I'm really having trouble wishing him well with his attitude. He's no ambassador for future recruits.

Take solace in the fact that he has no real NBA game and will likely be a huge bust. A power forward who can't shoot is a pretty useless thing in today's NBA.
