I love it, ESPN is going to need an assist when we make the playoffs because they keep feeding the team with bulletin board material. They just came out with a list of 9 teams that still have a chance to win the National title and undefeated #5 LSU didn't make the list!!!!

Throw it up in the locker room Coach, they are still disrespecting you and your Tigers!!!

It's their percentages based on schedule.
When you have to go through UGA, Bama and possibly UGA again the odds are pretty low LSU will be able to run that table but then again LSU should still be ok if they only drop one from that gauntlet.

We play Georgia and Alabama. We will know soon enough if we deserve a shot at the title. We dont need affirmation from ESPN. Win and shite takes care of itself.

LSU could lose just 1 game and beat Bama. Bama will still be in the playoff. Play LSU in the first round, beat them so Bama can restore order to ESPN's college playoff.

I think it would almost be better to beat UGA, lose to Bama, win out; have 1 loss and sit out the SEC Championship.

They've already proven they'll put that one loss team in the Playoffs.

The way I see it after wasting a ton of time crunching stats and following FPI for several years, an elite team like LSU has a 50% chance to win each of the games you listed. FPI is a load of horse shite and we’ll either show up and win or we won’t. Assigning us an 8.274636% chance to win out and make the playoff doesn’t change the fact that we’re undefeated and very much in the playoff race, and ESPN is garbage for not recognizing that

a lot of people are saying uga and bama. I still would not consider UF, State and atm pushovers either.

That's fine some years, but you know a 1 loss Ohio State/oklahoma and Clemson are taking 2 spots, and bama a 3rd.

I would rather be the 1 loss sec champs to potential grab the 4th spot

I assume you mean a 1 loss team that didn’t win the conference. Im tempted to say that Bama gets different treatment but the reality is even Alabama would have been left out last year if Wisconsin had won the B1G. They have not included a team that didn’t win its conference over a team that had the same #of losses and did win a P5 conference

I'd love for LSU to go undefeated!

But, LSU's best chance is to beat everyone on the schedule with the exception of Bama in the regular season. They would have wins over Miami/8, Auburn/9, UF/23, UGA/2, MSU/20ish, and A&M/20ish.

We would be in Bama's position last year. Let Bama play in the SECCG and win/lose to UGA who LSU would have beaten anyway. 11-1, with only loss to unanimous #1 in a close game we would be a shoe in over anyone not undefeated, possibly even over some of those as well.

I think that's actually very fair.

Is that the same national media that vaulted us from #25 to #5 in like 3 weeks?

It's literally just an algorithm based on remaining scheduled, and home vs away.

Based on that, LSU still has a tough row to hoe. It's not like its actual people saying this.

Dont get so bent out of shape.

The ESPN hatred on here is so disingenuous. Everyone gets excited when college gameday show makes an appearance on campus, but everyone hates the network broadcasting it.

This is not going to be a popular opinion. There is absolutely no way in hell they are putting a 1 loss non conference champion in. Unless it's Bama.

Of all the 1 loss teams they put in, I think Bama last year was the only one that wasn't a conference Champion. OU maybe, the year they lost to UT.

ESPN bases most of their content now on what their FPI winning probabilities say. Right now, we are still on the losing end against Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and even A&M. If we beat Florida and Georgia, you will see us appear in more of their postseason predictions, but it's very understandable that they don't have us in the playoffs right now with two higher ranked team (UGA and Alabama) still on our schedule. The other teams on their top 9 list are either higher ranked than us currently or have a much easier road to finish out the season. We arguably have the toughest remaining schedule in the country. Not to mention, the SEC is not going to get more than two teams in the playoffs, and it would be silly to say that UGA and Alabama wouldn't be favorites over us as of right now.
