Lack of Hustle

Lack of Effort

Lack of Want to

Tons of shooting ability, not a rebounder or a loose ball getter on the whole team

Tons of talent, no HEART

Wade is a horrible coach - he can recruit but his teams have no fundamentals, no decent plays or offenses to run, no concept of team, and again NO HEART!

And WTF kind of defense do we play? Teams score easy bucket son our defense more than any other in the country ...

This team needs:

Fundamentals
A decent offense and some decent sets/plays to run
A better defensive scheme
Better rebounding and hustle for loose balls
A coach who can motivate them to play

It's PUKE right now .....

No heart is an exaggeration. It's frustrating, but they look like most teams I've seen this year. They will play really hard and look dialed in for a few games and then slip back to looking inconsistent with little urgency.

Honestly, their shooting, which is usually really good, was their biggest problem yesterday. They shot 39% for the game and 50% from the line. You're not going to win many games when you do that. They grabbed over their average in rebounds and only had 8 turnovers. Days being 0-8 for the game and only having 2 rebounds really did LSU in. Wade should have seen how those stats were trending and had Days playing in the post more to score some easier baskets and grab more rebounds. I didn't see many in-game adjustments yesterday. Also, Watford keeps driving in out-of-control to the rim and throwing up prayers with Wade not getting him closer to the goal to post-up.

Lazy passes result in turnovers...too much outside shooting and not enough passing the ball around. Lack of hustle on defense.

If you can’t “see” the recurring deficiencies in this team you are just not wanting to admit that WW does not enforce discipline and has coaching issues with certain facets of the game. We all need to come to realization that the inconsistent play is what you gonna get with WW.

It’s simple but it’s more like this. They’re all playing for improved draft stock. Some teams less than others. With our team it’s glaring.

I’ll simplify it further for you...

Lazy and horrible defense.

This describes Howard at Michigan to a tee. Everyone kind of discounted that hire for UM but boy does it look like it was a home run now.

When I watch Michigan play, I watch a team that hustles all 40 mins, a team that fights for every lose ball and rebound and a team that plays fundamentally sounds on both sides of the ball night in and night out.

The vast majority of their issues can be greatly improved with effort and heart. They are running the same offensive sets and defense in games they win by 20+ pts as well as games they lose by 20+ pts. The X’s and O’s Aren’t perfect with pear, but it’s not close to their biggest problem at the moment.

And Watford is one of the laziest players I have ever watched play major college basketball.

Most are really lazy on defense and all of a sudden have life in them on the offensive side. I put a lot of blame on WW for not enforcing effort throughout the game and on both sides of the court. He relies on his team to outscore the other team but doesn’t have in game ability to make adjustments to combat defenses that shut them down and also to demand unselfish play on the offensive side. Lot of deficiencies: coaching, lack of discipline, effort and fundamentals.

No big man is massively obvious in terms of rebounding (offensively and defensively); that’s the first problem.

This void spills over into having all guards crash the boards = run outs by other teams/quick point/fast breaks/easy buckets.

This is a massive problem for any basketball team.

That puts you mediocre at best, then when your shots don’t fall coupled with no rebounding/fast breaks = yesterday.

Conversely, you have games like Auburn. When the ball goes in, no run outs, easy buckets by the other team.

It’s honestly that simple.

I have no idea how the big man that went to Memphis is doing but my Lawd we should’ve up’d the ante for him, we’d be leaps and bounds better.

It’s amazing how one player can make a difference -

And WW is a very good coach/recruiter. He is not the problem nor the piece you can do without, let that be very clear.

It all’s boils down down to one thing.....promising Thomas the green light anytime he touches the ball. Watford and Smart are not ok with this, contrary to what WW has told media. You can see it when they touch the ball, they want to do the same thing. This is not a TEAM, it is just five guys on floor trying to play NBA street ball and they are not experienced enough to take over games by themselves, not to mention the college game is a team game not an individual game.

Where I agree with some of your comments, the problem with rebounding and easy, fast break points by opponents lie in horrible fundamentals and effort. WW does put a smaller lineup on the court but so does a bunch of other teams. They are not grossly outmatched in height game in and game out. Their problems are lack of fundamentals and effort. It’s that simple. WW is to blame because he doesn’t enforce these things.

A lot of it was missing wide open 3s. And I love him but it was mostly Days, most of those he shot were good shots for him, but unfortunately he was just cold. If Days and Hyatt had hit 50 percent of wide open 3s, it would have been a completely different game. Edit to say I am only referring to yesterday’s game.

Trendon Watford was 6-15 missed several shots from 2-3 feet, Darius Days was 0-8, Javonte Smart was 6-14 missed several layups
