Last time I went, I stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton on Dodge Street...it was walking distance to everywhere...it was a team hotel for a few teams but not LSU's team hotel...I would try LSU's team hotel first...not sure what it is...someone else can tell you .

another 1st time poster.

Also, just going to throw this out there and someone who has all the scoop just needs to make a HQ thread to have everything in since the same thread keeps getting made over and over again about tickets/places to stay/things to do.

Haven't been but going this year.

Many people here have made the trip without tickets in hand, yet have had no issues getting tickets once they're there.

That's our plan. Cash is king.

Making our first trip as well.

Are there any areas in Omaha or Lincoln to avoid?

If you are going for the full 2 weeks, and cost is an issue, we stayed outside of Omaha at a cheaper hotel. Theory is you aren't around the hotel for most of the day on the day of the games anyway.

I’m staying at an AirBNB near near Barrett’s. I’m figuring on staggering home from there. There’s a fresh set of available tickets every time a team loses out. You’ll pay, but they’ll be available.

Hotels in Council Bluffs are cheaper. 10 minute Uber to the stadium.

Yep. Wake also. As per usual, ESPN will have the suites there.

This is the best place to stay - best proximity to the park and the best bar. They've renovated all the rooms literally in the past 5 months and the bar area has been renovated as well.

We stayed at Ameristar in Council Bluffs. It’s pretty nice and also has a casino. Skip, as well as a ton of former LSU players and national media guys stayed there. Skip was at the blackjack tables for long periods of time.

Tickets are easy, you can get general admission anywhere, even grocery stores. Key with that is to get there several hours beforehand to get in line, as they only allow people in once others leave after it gets full. Once in line, someone can go to will call and try to purchase unsold tickets. Bring your general admission because they will give you credit for those towards the ones you purchase.
