Ole Miss center made the play of the game. LSU’s mvp.

Imagine doing all this for a QB who went 23-13 as a starter.

Even as an Ole Miss fan, got to admit it was an amazing game. I don’t look at that game with bitterness like I do the 2014 Ole Miss Auburn game where Treadwell snapped his ankle.

Eh, his name’s legacy there played a part but he set a bunch of records and quarterbacked what was their best team in 40 years in 03. People on our side know that was a big win for us but I don’t think most realize how bad LSU ripped their heart out that day. They would have clinched the West with a win, Eli’s last home game, the son of their GOAT, their best team since the 60’s, etc, etc. It was a movie script for them.

And yes, it was one of the top 3 or 4 gameday atmospheres I’ve ever attended.

What did Tommy Casanova achieve?

About the same thing as Eli. Both really good college ball players.

Remember that time we painted the end zones with CASANOVA to honor Tommy? That was awesome.

I have heard from many people that the 2003 Ole Miss game was the best road trip for fans in history.

It was but we win by double digits if Mauck’s early game nerves don’t cause him to throw a pick six.

aside from one decent regular season (with a loss to LSU and Memphis - a weird flex of a banner claiming a division title - and a mediocre bowl appearance), what exactly did he accomplish for the school and football program as a whole?
