Thompson is quietly having a very nice offensive season being overshadowed by his defense. He’s got the 2nd most doubles on the team, I believe. That may be wrong, but he’s got 12 or 13. His average is up. And going into yesterday, he’s the only player on the team (that plays) that has walked more than K’d. That was a great AB he just had, even if he hadn’t hit the bomb. He battled the count full, choked up with 2 strikes, and kept his weight and his hands back beautifully to protect against something offspeeed. Wound up barrelling up a fastball that had enough loft and wind to get out.

But even if he had filed out, it was the competitiveness of the AB that was impressive. He would have waived at something with 2 strikes and struck out last year, and it would be very easy to take his defensive woes into the batter’s box this year. But he hasn’t, he’s battled, and I tip my cap to him.

He started the rally that finally got into their bullpen, which should have positive effects, even if he we lose Game 1.

Don’t like the comment from Jay about guaranteeing a spot to a freshman.

It’s 3-1 without the McManus frick up.

Never forget.

Why is Dugass at the top of the order? He is 0-4 with 3 Ks and a weak arse pop out to SS. The only thing he is good at is getting HBP.

If he catches the ball last night, the 4 run inning never happens and we are leading this shitty game. Get him out of the lead off spot Jay.

Because you can’t switch the order mid game.

How was he doing coming into this game?
