Other teams start freshman QBs who look better than our junior and seniors. Our QBs look like they've never played a down of high level football and are scared to make a mistake.

That's been the case almost every year that Miles has been in BR. If neither Jennings nor Harris pans out, then the problem isn't QB development, it's evaluating QB talent.

Defense and Special Teams look very improved over last year. Offense needs work and that Auburn game in Auburn is going to be rough. Need to see improvement from the OL and a passing game that gets more than 1 receiver involved. SEC West is brutal this year. I am watching the OL and the passing game.

You all aren't interested in a debate. The premise of the OP is that no one looks like world beaters ergo (1) why not LSU? and (2) it's okay that LSU has some unanswered questions.

No one is debating 2 other than some being concerned and others not worrying about it. As to the first point, it's irrelevant.

jennings wasn't as bad as some think last night. He finished 11-18 with his first 3 passes all being dropped.

Quinn and diarse dropped for sure 1st downs, that killed the first drive.

The correct answer is....

I have only watched LSU and seen the scores of the other teams.

Florida St. Returned lots of players and a Heisman QB. I think they'll drop one in the regular season.

Except that FSU scraped by Oklahoma State and beat Citadel (I-AA) by 37-12, solid margin of victory not exactly an annihilation.

But I doubt you watched FSU against Citadel (I certainly didn't) which brings me to the real reason why we're hypercritical of LSU and let other teams get a pass -- because LSU is the only team we're watching on a down by down basis. Most of us know other teams mostly through highlights. So we see Mariota break off 25 yard TD runs and see Trevor Knight hit 50 yard bombs. We're not watching some random play in the late second quarter when Oregon's center snaps it into his shin, or when Oklahoma's guard pulls straight into the fullback and the play piles up and loses three yards. But we are watching when LSU does all those things, so we do notice them, and make endless threads about them.

I don't even think they televised the Citadel game. I did watch Okie St and Fla st.

I also watched the Oregon game. And if I had to pick a number one it would certainly be them. I think LSU is a top 10 team. I don't think rankings matter at all. Because if LSU wins the SEC they'll be in. The AP poll is so subjective.

I disagree with this, to a degree. But I'm doing so respectfully, so hear me out please.

I don't think there's any team in the SECW that's going undefeated, and it's wide open IMO. To me, a brutal SECW means multiple great teams. I think there are several GOOD teams, no great teams that I can see...yet. To me, this is the first year in a while it's been this wide open. I think TAMU is susceptible to our kind of defense, and I think we'll beat them. I think Bama is susceptible to TAMU type of offense, and I think they'll lose to them. Of course, we have to play both, plus MSU, OM, Arky, and UF. I just don't see anyone coming out unscathed. Too many good teams, not one "great one".

A waste of time question. Doesn't matter what we think just what they do on the field. Still way too early in the season, especially with so many young players to be comparing us to other teams we haven't played.

Completely agree. Just a question to promote arguing, with no answer.

Its way too early to ask this question. Just let teams play their schedules and then we'll have a clear picture. All the rest of this is just wasted energy.

Where would you rank Jennings as an SEC Quartrback?

We will know more about the team after next weekend.

The defense has had two shut outs. We played Wisconsin. They had a new QB and allnew receivers.
We should shut out Sam Houston and ULM every time we play them until we put in the third team D.

This is a myth. Outside of 2010, LSU QB play has been pretty good under Miles. We don't run a system to get the QB 5,000 yards of offense. We run a system to score more points than the other team on each and every saturday night.

OK.. FSU has more experience and more depth than LSU...

Oregon would destroy this team.

Oklahoma should be #1 right now...

Bama would pound this team as of RIGHT NOW....

We are better than the rest BUT will lose to MSU this Saturday....

I agree with you. Although, I think they will find a way to beat moo state. This team is right where they belong. Between 8-13
