Baseball experts. What exactly does Mainieri do from here on? This is a smoke laval level team right now. I don’t know if this team is top 25. Pitching is god awful. Hitting is meh. Lucky as hell to have won last night. Where are the answers? I’ll hang up and listen.

No worries, alleva and fking like mediocrity, so if paul does what he did last year again this year for the next 10, he will be okay. He also won a championship once with the most stacked team ever so that can keep him alive forever I guess.

Maybe do what he’s done multiple times since he’s been here by losing some games early while figuring out his team then making a run later in the season. Last time was in 2017. That almost worked out perfectly. Give it time. Not saying there aren’t concerns or this team deserves to be ranked highly right now but all that matters is where we end up at the end of the season. These recent losses mean less in baseball than the early season basketball losses meant to them and look where they’re at now.

For a over a freaking decade CPM has had teams that look mediocre in February March and early April and for over a decade his teams have figured it out and got hot in May. Why do I have to prove anything when I have history on my side? Why don’t you prove to me how they can’t just follow the trend of LSU baseball since CPM has been the coach?

It’s baseball. Relax. This team is young, especially the pitching staff and they need to get healthy. Contrary to what the rankings/media thought, there were question marks that have to be sorted out early in the year. They are playing bad baseball right now, but there’s enough talent on the roster for them to get it together. Once the game starts to slow down for the freshman, they’ll be ok. I’ve seen enough of the young pitchers to know they have an embarrassment of riches in talent, just gotta get healthy and get experience. A month from now our pitching will be good enough to beat anybody on any day regardless of what the bats do. Be patient.

I want to believe you, but damn man I'm getting nervous. This team needs a leader. They need fire, they need to play like it's Omaha. They seem lackluster and not focused. The walks, the terrible ABs, baserunning, etc. They need to play like their ranking indicates but so far they haven't come close.
