Taking so much credit for Joe Burrow and the Heisman. I've seen so many people saying the same thing....."Ohio State had three players up for the Heisman last night. Joe Burrow is a Buckeye at Heart. Joe bleeds scarlet and grey. O-H.....blah blah blah.

STFU!

BURROW NEVER Played a meaningful snap at Ohio State! Yes, I get it, he graduated from there. He is an Ohio native. He has even said that is where he learned to become a man. BUT...as far as football is concerned they NEVER gave him his shot. He was not Urbans player! He was Tom Hermans guy and Tom Herman left. Urban would have kept him on the bench for a 4th straight season. It isn't a big secret that Urban didn't really respect Joe or his talents. Burrow even said it himself multiple times. Said Urban called him a Dlll QB. Said that Urban said he threw like a girl. JT Barrett even came out in an interview and said that Joe constantly got heckled and they didn't even call him by his real name.

Ya, Buckeye fans are proud of him and all applauded him and called him a class act last night ext. But they talk of him like he's a Buckeye player. Not an LSU player.

Burrow won the HEISMAN trophy last night. He won cause Coach "O" gave him that shot. That opportunity. He won cause Coach "O" brought in a passing coordinator and overhauled our prehistoric offense. He won cause our OLINE cameback intact this season and busted their asses to improve from last year. He won cause he was throwing to thoroughbred WR's from Louisiana! Burrow won cause JOE is a competitor who wanted to prove EVERYONE wrong including THE OHIO STATE University.

he mentioned them a lot more than i thought he would.

but, i guess they did play a major role by giving him a chance.

Don’t care about OSU fans gushing over him. He spent 3yrs there, is from Ohio, and got a degree there.

If Urban Myer gets back into coaching, guarantee he takes credit for him just like he did Cam Newton.

Would love to win it all with a win over Ohio State though. That would be glorious

Which coach and program did he break down crying about? Day or Orgeron?

Hey, if it makes them feel good about themselves, then there's no point in taking it away. Sometimes you have to let the little kids feel like they were a big part of the production.

For frick's sake. JOE gives them credit.

If your parents divorce, does that mean the parent without custody doesn't deserve some credit with how you turn out (assuming the actually played a role in your life before the divorce)?

don’t be a baby. Burrow also gave credit to Ohio State and his coaches there. Classy move.

Just be glad he’s here.

The trophy says Lsu, he was announced as from Lsu. And if that's not enough, that Coach O moment leaves no doubt as to how Joe feels.

Most fans, LSU included, would be doing the same thing if one of their transferred players won the Heisman and mentioned their school during the acceptance speech.

I understand Joe's need to give some credit to OSU, although I thought it was too much, but everyone knows he won the Heisman at LSU.

He can put it all to rest by beating OSU for the title. If that is how it plays out.

They can claim his NC game MVP as well next month if they want, its still gonna sit in LSU's trophy case.

Just simply send the buckeyes a "thank you" card and ask them to send us another one.

They have every right to be proud of him, just as we do. As for what team he belongs to...that will become evident when he takes the field to beat that arse on January 13.

He also reminded the audience that he didn't play for 3 years. I interpreted that as taking a shot at OSU, and deservedly so. He graciously gave OSU their shout out but was also sure to subtly point out that they could have kept them had they not left him to rot on the bench.

not being an arse

I think he should have brought up OSU and thanked them. He is a OSU graduate for Christ sake. That's all fine and dandy. They did give him his first shot at BIG TIME D1 football. He spent a lot of time there. He's from Ohio. That's all fine and dandy. I have zero issues with that. I would have done the exact same thing. It was a BIG part of Joe's life.

I'm saying BUCKEYE FAN's are taking way too much credit for this. Calling him A buckeye player. I don't see too many OSU fans talking about him as being an LSU player. Barely mentioning us. Acting like they had everything in the world to do with Joe raising the trophy. Kinda silly don't you think???

Sorry Buckeyes, but Burrow is a son of Louisiana now. He's Louisiana Royalty. You can't come in after the fact and claim a part of what he's earned after you cast him aside because he "wasn't good enough."

Buckeyes need to have a nice warm mug of STFU and realize what the nation saw last night:

ONE LSU Tiger >> Two OSU Buckeyes

Had an OSU friend text me last night saying the same stuff. And it wasn’t in a joking way, he was dead serious.

He even mentioned that “Burrow is the best qb LSU has ever had.” I’m like, no shite, he’s one of the best college qbs to ever play the game.

It’s a condescending tone and not congratulatory. Not all Buckeye fans are like this but there are a bunch who think the entire college football world revolves around that program.

Follow the lead of your Quarterback. He was very gracious and gave Ohio State credit for his development.
