Stop with this BS narrative.

It makes two huge and terrible assumptions.

1. That Cincinnati is actually good.

2. That teams dont change throughout the year.

Texas in week 2 is not the same Texas team in week 15. That week 2 Texas team would beat the living shite out of this current version.

YOU HAVE to use the rankings as they were when the teams played. shite happens throughout the season. Teams deal with injuries, players getting better or worse, their seasons being ruined and they stop playing like they give a damn, adjustments in game planning or scheme, etc.

And, yes. I dont agree with ranking teams that early in the season. I think they should wait until about halfway through. But if youre going to rank teams that early, then use the fricking rankings. You cant have your cake and eat it too. You cant have it both ways.

Teams are dynamic, Not static. Its obvious that teams can get better through out the season. Thats why teams can climb so far in the rankings. People forget, they can also get worse.

Bravo.

UGA (#4) lost to Alabama in the EEC title game last year.

Oklahoma was #5 and won the B12 title game.

Ohio State was #6 and won the B1G title game.

Final rankings:

Oklahoma #4
UGA #5
Ohio State #6

Those are facts of how the committee has handled conference title games in the near past.

Sorry for interrupting your echo chamber.

Not if you use the old BCS. LSU would probably jump back to 1 there after we punish UGA.

If we beat this listing, we have to go down as the GOAT team in college football history. No question.

Look, the reality is that LSU is #1 in the AP and the Coaches' Polls by a large margin

Not a large margin at all.

LSU is also #1 in the BCS if it were being run today, which we all know aggregates a whole bunch of shite.

Totally false.

The only ranking in which LSU isn't number 1 is the CFP ranking, which, unfortunately, is the only one that matters.

Totally false.

And because the body of evidence suggests LSU should be #1 and because the CFP is the only poll that doesn't have LSU #1 and because that poll is entirely dominated by humans, not any sort of aggregation formula or otherwise, it seems fishy as frick. Because it is.

Again, not true.

No team has ever had a season where they beat a similar listing of teams like this before. If they had, I'd like to see it.

This. Pundits have said multiple times this season, that Ohio State might be the most complete team since 1940. If LSU runs the table, it might be the single greatest season ever. The only other one that comes to mind is LSU 2011 just missing the mark at the end of the year.

Not if it's a blowout. Georgia already has a bad loss and if they get their asses handed to them there should be an appropriate adjustment to their ranking.

Then they have to do the same with Wisconin.

AP Poll

LSU- 40 first place votes
OSU- 19 first place votes

Just to clarify. That is more than double.

Coaches Poll

LSU- 43 first place votes
OSU- 17 first place votes

Just to clarify. That is also more than double.

That is a pretty good size margin.

Coaches Poll

AP Poll

False

OSU is #1 in the simulated BCS.

The fact is LSU and OSU are very close teams right now. The committee thinks Bama/Auburn/UF/PSU/Wisky/Michigan are kind of in a cluster together with 2-3 losses in the 2 best conferences.

If you take the premise that the committee does that those 6 teams are basically a push (I don't personally but they do based on rankings), then based on performance against those 3 teams OSU/LSU have each played OSU has been clearly better.

That doesn't and shouldn't mean that OSU would beat LSU if they played tomorrow, or that PSU would beat Auburn if they played tomorrow. It's arbitrary rankings in the same way the AP/Coaches polls are

Only because of being #1 in both human polls. The computers are almost unanimous that Ohio State has had a more impressive season so far. It's something like 4 out of 100 computers on the Massey composite that have LSU ahead of Ohio State. If you want to use computer rankings you have to agree with Ohio State for the #1 ranking. If you want to use the human polls that's fine, but don't say you want to use the computer rankings until you disagree with the outcome.

When have I said any of this? I'm perfectly fine with OSU being ranked #1 right now. That's what I thought would happen. I figured it would switch back after UGA though, which I'm now doubting happens and I think it's a crock of shite.

Assuming Ohio State and LSU both win Saturday (which I think they both will), the teams will have wins over the following CFP ranked teams -

Ohio State - #8, #8, #10, #14, #20
LSU - #4, #9, #11, !2

LSU would have the best win, Ohio State would have the most wins. I personally don't think Cincinnati is a Top 25 team, certainly not a Top 20 team but the only people that matter is the playoff committee.

I think LSU has to dominate UGA to move ahead of Ohio State.

The cut-off clearly has to be at 13.

The fact that they include wins over teams ranked 14-19 is absurd.

My arbitrary number is obviously superior to theirs.
