why not just play over the pause in Neck and delete the chance for those words to be chanted - in other words as soon as the students chant Day-oh have the brass come in and drown out any chance of STTD

I don't know about USCe but Auburns band director is a Linda Moorehouse disciple if I'm not mistaken.

Auburn has a kick arse band. They've improved a ton since that guy took over. I wish we could bring him back to LSU. The GBFTL needs some new blood.

Probably true, but TGBFTL needs old blood back. Frank needs to come out of retirement and work like hell to get Linda back. Make Roy do whatever he did before he was director of bands...he sucks as the main guy. TGBFTL has beaten "Hey Fightin' Tigers" to death under his tenure as DOB.
Bring Frank bank and we get the epic band we had back.

Actually it's just bring Linda back. Frank checked out of Tiger Band long before he retired.

Works for me. There was been an obvious drop off in quality since Frank retired and Linda left. The band doesn't even have the same power and volume of sound that they used to. We've always had one of the smaller bands in the SEC, but in the past our band could still blow opposing bands out of the stadium. Not so much anymore.

THIS. Our band never used to sound small...now it does. I feel like the past few years I've had to really focus to hear Pregame and focus even harder to listen to the band in the stands. Never used to be that way.

Exactly. I can't even hear them when they play during the same sometimes. I have to really listen hard to be able to pick out the songs. Maybe it's just me, but they physically look smaller in number as well, although supposedly they are the same size that they've always been.

I agree with all of this. I never liked Linda Morehouse as a human being, but she was absolutely the right person for the job as LSU Director of Bands. The Music and Dramatic Arts Department should have bent over backwards for Linda, but instead, they tried to strong-arm her into taking control of just the marching band and relinquishing control of the concert bands, and she bolted for greener pastures. We have been feeling the effects of that for the past 4 years. I will admit, having Roy as band director was more fun, but the quality of the group suffered directly as a result.
There is another hope, though. The New Hope has already began turning around the Bengal Brass and has helped the marching band tremendously. Hopefully Llinas's influence can be more felt in the GBFTL as time goes on.

He's the number 2 guy now. Latin guy, very stylish, in charge of the basketball band. He choreographed the basketball pregame show that was unveiled last year for home SEC games. He also wrote a few of the recent arrangements like all of the stuff by "FUN", "Gangnam Style", "Callin' Baton Rouge", and several others that I can't remember right now. He's a really cool guy.

Yeah, why can't the students can the profanity on the good stuff and get out the cursing dictionaries whenever they hear the words "latin flair" over the PA? Not too many people would miss that. But anyway...
When is the band gonna bring back "Me So Horny"?
