100% - it was an ex-Cal player on the tape, and somehow got a copy and leaked it. Dick screwed up a couple of times saying "just listen to the tape" when no one was supposed to have been able to listen.
Cal still pissed about losing out on Smart, made it his mission to bring down WW, enlisted the help of his buddies Dick and Pat Forde and went in deep and dry.

Yeah, the SEC leadership has demonstrated LOTS of hypocrisy and NO consistency. Every time I rad of one of these instances and the SEC's hypocritical approach, it makes me think of this song from way back when.
