Honey, you have no room to talk about a nerve being struck. Look at your farewell diatribe that you wrote.
I agree, it was dramatic. As I said, I was stunned at the personal attacks. But then I'm not used to that. Of course in the dinosaur days of John Ferguson there was no internet, no message boards.
It was the straw that broke the camel's back, because it was aimed at my alma mater, my fellow alum, and was not about the game, but about the intelligence and socio-economic status of USL/ULL supporters, thus my joke about my husband's job.
There were also frequent questions about "why the animosity towards LSU"-earlier in the week.
Also I'm not a frequent visitor to the Rant. It's an LSU board, and I've always tried to be polite and civil whenever I've posted, which is usually the Poli Board, and I've been able to brush off attacks because it was politics.
Have a good day.

And now I have to hit the grocery store. My USL educated husband is managing an huge project, and those LSU grads who answer to him need a lot of hand holding, so he's always ready for a good meal when he gets home.
So all that text of BS that you spit then you finally decide to get to the point and get your troll in.....and you produce this.
WOW

Just say you don't like LSU. Are you that insecure in your opinion that you have to lie to yourself to justify it?
Because I don't hate LSU. As I said, I always pulled for them.
My kids graduated from there.
But as I said, it was quite the eye opener.

I owe nobody from Louisiana Lafayette an apology because I am always exceedingly polite to the people who control the International Cracklins Cartel. They are generally fine people.
Like most LSU fans who grew up in Baton Rouge I pulled for USL and was unaware of their elephantine-like Insecurity related to all things LSU. So that came as a bit of a shock. And of course we have been through this for 20 years now, Little Step Brother pokes at us and acts out to get our attention, and we kind of can't believe the emotional neediness. And then we promptly forget the whole thing, unaware that their grudge just builds 365/24/7.
Someday, as these things go, they will slay the dragon and wonder what all the fuss was about. All that negative energy, all that angst and jealousy focused on Big Brother, and none of it for any real reason other than their own unresolved feelings of insecurity and inferiority. Over sports.

No, I was responding to earlier posts about USL/ULL grads and fans being intellectually inferior.
My earlier post stands, although I will deduct points for the drama part.
But there are a lot of USL/ULL fans who have always cheered for LSU. I was one of them. But after this, and other incidents where family members were verbally abused(three young ladies) at the last LSU/USL game, I'll abstain.

>>>ETA I'm no spring chicken, so I guess this trash talk stuff has passed me by. Or maybe when I did attend games it was with adults, who were much better mannered then.

Perfectly acceptable....you certainly could have easily conveyed this point without the wall of text and the lousy attempt to troll.

Look, i'm sorry none of your children or friends pointed out that you made a very sexually suggestive sign because they were hoping the national TV cameras picked you up. You brought the ridicule on yourself my dear.

I wasn't attempting to troll because what I said was true, my background as a LSU football fan.
I'm too much of an internet amateur to even know I was trolling.

When I was 11 I sold peanuts in Tiger stadium...I can assure you that people were vulgar towards opponents back in the 80's just as they are now.
You should be well aware that EVERY fan base is going to have some fans that take things too far...even USL fans. Rather than focus on the bad maybe you should try focusing on all the good LSU fans you encountered. Which would definitely greatly outnumber the bad fans...unless yall were being obnoxious fans to begin with.

No offense intended, but you really are letting your ego and insecurity overpower your intellect and rationale. LSU fans have had a lifetime of insults hurled at them from USL/UL . It's so prevalent in Acadiana , and such a CLASSIC case of Little Man's Syndrome that I actually have sympathy at this point. UL people actually have taken on LSU-HATE as part of their School Identity. It's just petty and pathetic because we aren't rivals. We ignore it, and we are told we are arrogant, we engage it in a friendly manner and we are told we are arrogant, we react to it and we are told we are arrogant...I mean we can't win. Except for the fact that we always WIN, of course, but I digress...
At some point you guys are just going to have to get over yourselves. Just be YOU and quit ragin' that you aren't US.

Have fun cheering against LSU while your entire fan base obsesses yet again over what name they call your team
Well let's see: They started with Southwestern Louisiana Industrial Institute (SLII); then changed to Southwestern Louisiana Institute of Liberal and Technical Learning (SLI); then...University of Southwestern Louisiana (USL); followed by.. "USL attempted to change its name to the University of Louisiana, which only lasted less than a month until overturned by an act of the state legislature"; so they went with University of Louisiana at Lafayette (UL Lafayette); And now it's UL?
Gotta give um credit for being persistent I guess!
