In softball you can sub a player and re enter them one time. If removed a second time they cannot return.

Softball has a reentry rule where you can bring your starters back in to the game once. Baseball you can have a pitcher come out and pitch again, but they can't be taken out of the game. There was a manager a while ago (don't remember who) that would switch out a LHP and RHP to work the match ups and have the other play right field.
