but, what's the penalty for trasnferring?

Transfer to a 1-A school would mean he would have to sit out a year, which he could redshirt.

Transfer to a 1-AA school he can play next season.

Going where? You mean he is going to another school to sit out and play one year?

yeah, transferring doesn't make a lot of sense at this point. Especially with the new QB.

Gotta be something else, I would think. Maybe NFL (though he might not get drafted at this point)? Maybe something else?

Love this guy, though. I hope everything works out for him.

Yea if Randle is leaving and it at least possible Boone goes with BG to Illinois then it really seems an odd time for RS to transfer.

I think it will hurt future recruiting. His career has been wasted. He's never been a true WR, but the "plan" was to use him like UF used Harvin. He needed the ball. We gave him a couple of jet sweeps, thats about it.

LSU regularly puts players in the NFL. Shep leaving isn't going to change that and isn't going to hurt recruiting

Not sure if this has been discussed, but isn't he going to graduate soon? If so, he could transfer to a D1 school that offers a graduate program not offered by LSU and be able to play right away right?

While he is fully immersed in play wide

"I tell him every day I am the best quarterback on the team," Shepard said. "The best quarterback in LSU history that never threw a pass. I look forward to keep messing with him about that."

So trying to talk to people about it so they can have a similar story to you is a ridiculous rule? You are a moron

Kids a leader. He'll be missed even if his production is replaced.

He also helped A&M out. He talked to Matt Davis about actively recruiting for your school you are choosing to attend. Ended up being very beneficial considering we later fired Sherman but Davis had built a great camaraderie amongst the 2012 class.

You're a class guy RS. Good luck

I've absolutely never understanded what the team was trying to do with him.
He takes a sweep to the house. The next game, no touches.
Line him up in the backfield, decoy.
Leads the team in yards on 11/5. 3 plays in MNC.

It's hard to deny that he's very talented. Harvin would get 10-12 touches every game. Shep gets 1-2.

Noone has been very productive in the LSU offense with JJ at Qb.

If he transfers, he'd only get one year at a non-D1 school. I don't understand this...

He could graduate LSU in Spring and transfer to a masters program at a different D1 university and play football.

Has been done many times.

No. He would have to sit, but you have 5 years to play 4. He has played 3 so could still redshirt. If he transfers he can't play until the 2013 season unless he goes to a 1-AA school for his senior year.

Losin Shepard, Randle, and (potentially) Boone will leave us very thin at WR next season behind Landry and OBJ. This isn't a good development at all.

Sadly, He might be able to make a strong case given our recent Qb woes.

But if gradutes, he can do like Jeremiah Masoli.

TL said that RS is talking about NFL draft not a transfer.

I think RS is getting bad advice if he thinks he is ready for the NFL.

I agree his talents are being wasted, but there maybe a reason for that...
