What is giving you confidence a year 2 guidry would be better than Thompson?
Let's just look at stats.
Batting Avg.: .246
Fielding %: .924
Yep, i'd pretty much take anyone on the roster over that.

He couldn’t beat him out this year, what makes you think he will be able to next year?
With the injuries to the pitchers, why would we ever take another one away? Does that make sense to remove someone from an already somewhat depleted group?

You aware that Guidry didn’t do too well in the fall? Guidry could very well end up being light years ahead of JT but acting like that’s a certainty for next year is a bit of a reach

If JT turns it up and has a great season defensively and offensively and gets drafted in the first 2-3 rounds he would only sign for 10K as a senior?
Yes, most likely. Guys out of eligibility have no leverage.

I'm not saying Guidry will be our SS next year or that he will even be a great SS, just that he can be no worse than Thompson.

I would absolutely take Guidry over Thompson.
The way people make definitive statements like this with no good reasoning or logic to back it up is hilarious

So the Florida Shortstop is likely signing for 10K? That’s brutal.

I don’t think Rivera is out of eligibility

Based on what exactly?

Correct on Rivera, why would any player ever come back for their senior year?

Well we know Kramer was selected in the 4th round as a Senior and signed for $150k.

The Philadelphia Phillies select Cam……..

Could be a few different factors. May not see a future for themselves in baseball and want the degree. May value the extra year more than the $150k or so with a little NIL cash.
