With the draft over and knowing Pineda and Gervase will be gone, the roster is looking to be at 46 with 4 of those being covid sr. Will definitely have some things to figure out.
Of course there is still a chance that Noot, Neal, and Carter Young will sign. I don't think the Brewers will be able to afford both Noot and Neal. So worse case scenario you lose Young and one of the others to bring it down to 44.

I looked at last year's draft and only 1 player drafted after round 12 got a signing bonus of $500k or more.

Bryce Collins announces on return on twitter, not that we were really doubting

True, it would definitely be out of the ordinary. But, I think the Brewer's available pool will be more telling than the round. If I had to guess, I'd say it's more likely than not that both Noot and Neal don't sign, but I do think they will be able to pull together a decent offer for one of them. Would feel much more confident if the Brewers sign their first 3 picks for near slot value.

Wouldn't they still be looking to bring players in with gervase and pineda not coming?

Reminds me of the story Jared Mitchell told the other day. Said no thanks and 3 rounds later the same team drafted him in round 10. Neal and Noot received more than plenty of calls the past 3 days. The Brewers are locking in the chance to be able to talk with them for the next two weeks.
If either Neal or Noot are to sign that means they lower their number from two days ago.
I’m having a hard time seeing a way this works.

Pretty sure NIL, especially since Noot seems to already have a deal, would make up for what he is offered that late.

And the fact that both of them are already on campus, and have been for some time now, hanging out with multiple other highly rated HS signees I think would make it even less probable that they sign than the norm.
They’re already creating bonds with their future teammates that will make it more difficult emotionally for them to sign at those lesser figures you referenced. I think this is something that will actually work against MLB teams and in favor of colleges now that the draft is so much later in the summer.

3 hours ago, AYS tweeted Noot is a Tiger. Did Noot post something?

Those are amateur accounts. I don’t rely on those.

This comment did not get nearly the amount of love that it should have. I laughed.

They might. I didn't think they would go back to the portal or after any other recruits this cycle after Skenes. Now seeing that we have a covid sr spot I would expect to go and see what is available in the portal to add a 5th covid sr.

IMG just made two posts about Brady Neal draft to the Brewers. IMG sports agents probably pushing him to go pro.

Since the baseball guys are here, when is the schedule normally released? Just got an RV and excited to plan trips around baseball.

Imagine the post they’ll make when he’s drafted day 1 after a few years in college.

I just can’t imagine that he didn’t turn down a 7 figure deal in the first 2 days. The brewers might be able to offer 1m if everyone goes underslot, but I don’t see it being much more than that.
