I wonder how much chandler bats and Marruci is paying him in his deals

Hell of a point there. It is really either/or, likely none.

Almost their whole board will be at or below slot. They took 1 high school between rounds 1 and 11. Then 5 in the 2nd half.

Here I was thinking the usual baseball posters were level-headed.

I'm sorry if you believe level headed is reading into a kid's like on a post that isn't even true.

you need to step away from the keyboard for a minute my dude

They'd have to have a lot of guys take pretty significant haircuts AND have our guys take haircuts to sign.
I don't think you're being unreasonable. The door isn't closed until they tell us for certain it's closed or the deadline passes. And them telling us it's closed involves thanking the org for drafting them but I'm going to school anyway.

Bingo.
ETA: I'm just not considering this over until it's over. Sorry if that's hard to understand. It's literally not over until it's over, though.

Here's what needs to happen: Dayton Moore, out of guilt of taking Jack Pineda from us, needs to tell his kid to go over slot with the Brewers.
Misiorowski needs to go overslot as a thank you to the recruiting staff.
And Eric Brown needs to help his state out and go over slot.
Boom, problem solved.

High schoolers aren’t the only draftees with bargaining power. College kids with eligibility demand slot or above money too and 7/10 of the Brewers’ picks in the top 10 rounds have bargaining power. Plus the kid they took at 11.
You’re usually a really level headed poster. Not sure why the continued melt. Usually it’s me doing the melting. Think this has to do with expectations being set too high yesterday losing sight that there was also 10 rounds left today.

I'm very familiar with the draft

The kid they took in the third round, even though he's a high schooler, is almost assuredly an underslot guy.
The catcher from Penn State, even though he's a junior, is not worth $450K. He's probably closer to $300k.
They're going to save money in some spots. We just need the big guys to hold their feet to the fire.

If someone asked you early last week how you’d feel if Kling, Shores, Guidry, Herring, Moffett, Bucknam, Jones, Frey, Bronzini, Floyd, Jobert, and Dugas all went undrafted with a great shot at retaining Young, Neal, and Noot as 17+ round picks, I imagine you’d be through the moon.

It will be tough, but it's not impossible. I just want them to officially say thanks but no thanks. Noot isn't going to tell them no I can't sign because I liked a post that looked like I was going to school. He hadn't even fielded the call yet.

Up vote. I like the way you think.

Exactly, I'm thinking they may be left with around 1-1.5 mil. Will definitely need some of them to sign over slot. It isn't completely over. I feel good about it but not completely done.
Feel like they will have to push hard though.

I'd say I felt good, but I hate losing Pineda, Paul doing an okie doke, and now sweating some late round shenanigans. Exactly what I've said all along.
Posted on 7/19/22 at 5:07 pm to DRock88
Gervase’s okie doke is the subjective side of the decision. The vast majority objective view going into the draft was that Gervase was good as gone. However which way it happened, he ended up being gone. That’s really all that matters.
And it’s not like this was a Mac Marshall situation. That shite dragged out BEYOND the signing deadline. This was less than 24 hours.

Everything you are saying makes sense, you just came out of the gate a little gloom and doom with "Today wasn't good, and its not over." when someone asked the outlook of the draft. I don't think today was all that bad. Losing Pineda was a bit of a hit. Gervase is good but nothing we won't be able to replace with guys we will have. Young, Noot, and Neal feel like hail marys on if they can make something happen. Hail marys fail more times than not. I like our chances there.

Agreed. Looking at their draft (LINK ), they don't likely have a single overslot guy in their top 10 round picks (maybe Misiorowski?) but do have several underslot guys. In our favor is that they can only go ~350k over their pool before losing a pick in next year's draft.
They should be able to make a run at either Noot or Neal, but it's highly unlikely they could get both and questionable if they can get one. Will depend on how far north of $1M Noot's/Neal's number is and if they stick too it.
