It seems like you should almost be ashamed if you don't get drafted with so many picks.

If I didn't get picked after 1000 I would not even bother. I probably wouldn't even play in college at that point.

What do you think is going to happen with Watkins? He didn't get drafted, so will he be welcome back, or transfer?

Watkins is going to be a numbers guy...To the best of my knowledge that's why Mainieri said he wasn't going to be back then retracted his statement. If LSU has an open spot and is in great need of an extra outfielder he would then come back.

Thanks for keeping us informed.
Whats your thoughts on the Nola boys both getting drafted by the same team. I'd like to see them both at LSU next yr.
Hanover and Rhymes any thoughts on their leaving.
Have you seen the last of todays selections?
Wondering if Watkins gets drafted.
Anyway thanks for all your info.
I only watched day one to see where Mikie went, then I read your Thread to get the rest.
Thanks

1.) Watkins did not get drafted this year.

2.) Hanover and Rhymes likely to return to LSU in an attempt to improve draft status.

3.) Brothers Nola to come to LSU and play together. Little chance Aaron signs due to the amount they offer.

Why is Andrew Ray at the bottom of the signees list below all the guys that didn't get drafted? just curious

Also, what do you think about Arby Fields taking over in center, and Jacoby remaining in the infield? considering he was our best full-time infielder last year according to fielding %age and errors committed

Ray's scholarships was taken back. He's not coming to LSU.

I personally think our best bet is with JJ in center, but that's just my opinion. I think everyone will have their own view of each position until fall ball starts.

I know we are talking about baseball here but I can't read "JJ" and not instantly think of Jordan Jefferson. I don't think that JaCoby has achieved the amount of sheer awesome that the real JJ has accrued in his tenure here at LSU

Ray no longer has a scholarship offer.

Fields doesn't have the strongest arm and Jones athletic ability will keep Jones roaming center field for now.

Do you see Fields in left with Katz staying in right?

Definitely, I don't think Katz made a single error the entire season in RF if I'm not mistaken. The roster is going to go through a major overhaul in the coming months, but if I had to take three in the outfield at this moment it would be Fields, Jones, Katz.

Was reading an article over on Tiger Sports Digest, and Mainieri mentioned that he would not be suprised if Hanover left and elected to start his pro career. Also said that Rhymes definitely told him he is coming back.

Well that's good that we know Rhymes is coming back. I don't see what makes Hanover want to leave right now. He must not be happy?

Probably. He says his number is 100 grand. I think he'd leave for less than that.

Biggest thing I read was

quote:

“You wouldn’t think Mikie would come back, but you just never know,” Mainieri said. “He thought he was going to go higher than 31st. He called me after the draft and the first thing he said was, "Am I welcomed back?" and I told him of course he was
