From what I heard, Mainieri tried to piece together a scholarship offer. When a portion of it fell through, he switched to Texas.

that's too bad...he is like the 15th rated MLB player. they commented on the show tonight that he slipped in the draft because of a "signability" issue....guess the Horns get lucky here

There was a ZERO percent chance Story was going to show up to LSU even drafted in the 5th round. Trevor will be signing with Colorado as expected.

This. Much like DeShields Jr and Bedrosian last year, the commit was strictly for negotiating purposes.
