Nobody cares about Monroe. The parents and children continue to breed their traditional incest in the north like they are trapped in a time warp, cloaked in the backwards WASP rituals and southern Baptist perversions.

No one cares about you either, baw.

We branded ourselves Louisiana because Lafayette is the epicenter of Cajun culture and because we don't give a frick. LSU is a agriculture and mechanical school but they choose not to include this on their logos or sports merchandise etc.. But on LSU's degrees they must deal with the fact that "Agricultural & Mechanical" is stamped on their degree like a branded - Chineese tattooed prostitute.

"We did it because in our own minds we are awesome and everyone else can suck it!"

Oh, well ok then. This is the dumbest argument I've seen in 47 pages. Congratulations.

So then you resort to the hypothesis that the Legislature must ignore the fact that you are using a different name from the Legal distinction and shove down the Legal name on us.... probably will work because those season tickets to tiggger land football carry a lot of weight...

Well we actually have legal rights to "LSU" and it has been approved by the Legislature as a designation of the school.

Not so much with USL

Maybe if you didn't go all Bruce Jenner every 30 or so years then you would have a name built in tradition rather than mockery. Nobody is ashamed of LSU being an A&M. But clearly you are ashamed of being at Lafayette.

Laffy paper stated about 2 or 3 months ago that the enrollment at UL-Lafayette had finally topped 17,000... but in order to hit this milestone, UL Lafayette had decided to count 900 or so people who were taking Leisure Learning classes - how to make gumbo, painting nudes, and on and on.

Im now convinced they will do anything to up their status in life.

It really only changes their status in their on minds. No one else notices until they start screaming in your face for acceptance and acknowledgement.

I'm still confused about what LSU fan, student or employee is offended about LSU being an A&M college..

We don't stomp on tradition.

No they're not. In fact, many just say Lafayette, without even saying Louisiana. Whole thing is a sham. It's a disgrace in the face of actual Cajun people(which by the way make up less than 30% of the population of Lafayette).

I don't think anyone as. As I said earlier, it was likely originally shortened for convenience, not because we were embarrassed by it. I wouldn't give two shits if ESPN or whoever else started using LSU A&M as our name.

Correct.

UL Lafayette has been told the exact opposite. They have no legal rights to the name "University of Louisiana".

Look up ACT 45 from the 1995 Louisiana Regular Session. It specifically enumerates (that's a big word for "says", UL Lafayette grads) that no school in the UL System may be referred to as the "University of Louisiana".

ULM had just as much right to call themselves The University of Louisuana as ULL does. If they plastered it on my their jerseys would it be ok with you in Lafayette

That's legally ok because it is considered a "nickname". Only the athletics department uses "Louisiana" on their uniforms and such, but the academic department does not.

Like how we are also nicknamed the "Bayou Bengals".

As I said to someone earlier, a UL Lafayette grad saying "I graduated from Louisiana" is the exact same thing as me saying "I graduated from Bayou Bengals".

I'm proud that my diploma says "Louisiana State University and Agricultural & Mechanical College." In fact, if our football helmets said, "LSU A&M" or something similar, I would be cool with that too.

Our complete name shows that we are THE complete university in the state of Louisiana, encompassing education, business, engineering, agriculture, law, medicine, dentistry, etc. Does UL Lafayette have a law school, vet school, medical school, etc? Even in Texas, there is not one school that encompasses everything like LSU A&M.
