Please tell me LSU is going to do everything possible to block it or at the very least make it a miserable process for him.

This just proves it wasn’t about being closer to home, but rather him not wanting to face the consequences of failing a synthetic marijuana test. Will fit in just right with the UF culture/Mullen. Honestly can’t blame him- Our compliance department needs an overhaul!

He quit because we had a bad season and he's soft. If he's transferring because of a weed suspension, his transfer wouldn't get approved. You can't get a waiver to play immediately if you have a pending disciplinary suspension. Y'all need to stop with this. He's a quitter.

quote:

In order to be eligible for the waiver, the transfer student-athletes must meet the following conditions:

-They must be enrolled full time at the school for the fall 2020 term.
-It must be the first transfer from a four-year school.
-The student-athlete must have left their previous school in good standing academically and not facing disciplinary suspension.
-Both the head coach and the student-athlete must certify that impermissible recruiting did not take place.

You can’t allow a guy to transfer and play against the school he just left the next season. Have to put our foot down.

I guess his body is no longer hurting.

Since Pitts opted out of the bowl game about two seconds after their SEC Championship loss, it looks like Gilbert chose the right place to carry on the opt-out tradition. UF's offense looks to be rough next year, so I don't know about this decision for Gilbert. Also, Mullen is an asshat.

Since I deleted twitter should I put in the effort to sign back up just to tell him in graphic detail what I hope happens to him and hope he sees it before I get banned?

I wouldn’t call this a bad year during covid and beating the team he transferred too... not to mention losing everyone and all the opt outs. If he thought our team last year would be playing for a natty he’s completely misguided, but it wasn’t a bad year. Our young team showed growth and with new hires and more experience coming back next year he should realize the program is going in the right direction. This wasn’t about a bad team, but keep believing whatever you believe

If you want to believe every time a kid leaves it's because of weed (which is what the board belkieves), by all means believe whatever you want to believe. I guess our team just quit smoking weed in 2019

Nothing LSU can do. NCAA rules made it possible to transfer with no penalties due to the virus.

I agree though. It’s ridiculous especially in-conference.

You’d think we could lodge complaints, put up roadblocks, maybe even file a suit just to set the precedent that it’ll be a hellish process in conference.

It was a bad year. When Mississippi State beats you by double digits and breaks an SEC passing record in Tiger Stadium and Mizzou beats you with barely enough players on D to play due to COVID, it's a bad year (not to mention Auburn beating you by the most point in series history and still firing their coach at the end of the year).

LSU did finish very strong though and somehow managed to finish at .500 when that looked almost impossible at one point, so the season ended up being much better than it could have been even though it was a bad year by LSU standards.

I think LSU just needs to move on. Yeah it sucks that a player of that caliber is gone, but 2019 proves a TE is not necessary to win the whole thing. Moss was serviceable at best, although he made a couple great plays... But having an elite WR group and elite running back with good QB play is the winning formula. To say we need Arik is hyperbole. Let’s beat that arse next year when his sorry arse comes to play in Death Valley

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t happy he’s going to a dead program. Florida is going to fricking suck next season

Would have sucked much more had he transferred to an actual threat
