No. Thats not what you do. You dont want to give them an extra offensive snap, even if it is just to punt, you never what can happen. They can go for it or something else can happen. Always take the possession.

Possibly. You don't take that chance with 11 minutes left in the half. Fumble, fake punt, alot of bad things could happen.
